Tearing down history - getting to be commonplace

Elected officials don't care about history today--(think Lake Worth officials want to change the name of our city). In this case, which is totally different but the same principle, all they seem to care about is a tax base. Anything in its way to achieve that end is subject to the cutting block.

But then, perhaps this is more similar than we realize to Lake Worth as our officials want to sell off our "Chamber building" on Lake Avenue which is in the  Historic Old Town Commercial District (also known as Downtown Lake Worth) --anything for a buck.
