This is the main reason that the first general obligation bond failed in Lake Worth. Commissioners were going to get $3.2 million for discretionary funds divided between the four commissioners to use in their Districts.

"Slush" funds are just a bad idea because it gives an opportunity for the commissioners to use the money for political purposes to garner support and reward friends. Palm Beach County has had its share of being the "corruption county" of the country. Discretionary funds could once again open that door.
