Daylight Savings Time could be permanent in Florida

The Florida Senate Rules Committee just passed the Sunshine Protection Act on a 11/0 vote. It now goes to the Florida Senate for a vote as to whether Florida stays on Daylight Saving time year round. The Florida House has already passed their own legislation in favor of this. If this passes in Florida, it will be up to the U.S. Congress to allow or disallow.

CS/CS/SB 858: Daylight Saving Time

GENERAL BILL by Commerce and Tourism ; Community Affairs ; Steube ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Mayfield ; Taddeo
Daylight Saving Time; Creating the "Sunshine Protection Act"; providing legislative intent regarding the State of Florida and its political subdivisions observing daylight saving time year-round under certain conditions, etc.
Effective Date: 7/1/2018
Last Action: 3/5/2018 Senate - Laid on Table, refer to HB 1013

Great idea, but they need the entire country or the east coast to also do the same.
