Amal Alamuddin (Arabic: أمل علم الدين‎) (born 1978) is a London-based, British-Lebanese lawyer, activist and author. She is George Clooney's finance. She is a lawyer at Doughty Street Chambers, specializing in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition. Her clients include Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, in his fight against extradition. She has also represented the former prime minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko who was convicted of embezzlement and abuse of power, and sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered to pay the state $188 million. You really have to wonder why so many in California are so confused. Playboy Hollywood star George Clooney, a friend of Barack Obama (who is incidentally slipping big time in the polls), and who the Democrats are pushing to run for governor of the State of California, is using his clout as a super-star by persuading the mayor of the Italian town (where he is supposed to marry) to guarantee his privacy by enacting new laws that will protect him from the paparazzi.

His finance, Amal, is reported to be a Druze which is an offshoot of Muslim and according to reports, she is someone who is anti-Israel. Druze in different states can have radically different lifestyles. Some claim to be Muslim, some do not. Clooney once famously declared he could never run for public office because he’d ‘slept with too many women, done too many drugs (maybe that's his excuse) and been to too many parties.  To finally settle this Hollywood playboy down, it took someone who is not an American citizen, a defender of Julian Assange who is a criminal, and someone pro-Palestinian?

California is already a mess anyway.
