Tonight's City Commission Meeting has $829,359.07 on Consent Agenda. That ain't hay.It used to be that when one of these items was pulled for discussion, it was moved to New Business and the public got to speak. Since Rene Varela has been mayor, this has not been the case. He gets to set the policy on public commentary. A commissioner can pull it for discussion but we still can not speak...it stays on Consent Agenda.
This is just another tactic to suppress the public from expressing an opinion on how this City and Commission spends our money.
