The City of Lake Worth just publicly noticed its proposed tax increase in the Palm Beach Post that will be voted upon by the City Commission on September 24. Nothing yet noticed regarding the meeting on their web page as I write this.

We pay too much for cops
The Post had many local municipalities listed with their proposed increases. $1 Million seemed to be pretty popular. Some of the increase will be offset by new development???
It has to make you wonder if there is any money left over to operate the city.
All the new developments will be kicking in some day and then Lake Worth will be sitting pretty. Have faith, its coming.
@5:20...oh swell--that's what we need--more of Omari's affordable housing.
I Love and respect our police,but we are NOT getting anything NEAR what we should be getting in the way of patrol and protection in our neighborhoods. No speed control ,NONE in our neighborhoods that have become speed ways. Our neighborhoods have regular drug exchange spots. (Are YOU gonna approach the neighborhood dealers and tell them no ,no,no ? I'm not!).A clean up crew of garbage men with a badge following up on all of our crimes is just not worth what we're paying.
The Police work in their own mysterious way. What is the point in their interrupting drug exchanges. They can't hold them. As far as the cars racing up and down streets, that would be a good use for drones. Should the police race up and down the streets to get them. Think of the accidents that would cause. Again, they can't hold them. We have all of this technology, why not put it to use fighting misdemeanor crimes.
DEVELOPMENTS IN CRA DISTRICTS COST LAKE WORTH BEACH UNTIL THE CRA SUNSETS-30 YEARS.
UNTTIL THEN WE PAY FOR CONCURRENCY AND THE CRA GETS THE INCREASED TAX REVENUE.
@7:49---with your beliefs, we don't need police at all?? We can hold them if we want to. We need some active policing on all crimes...small ones become big ones as law breakers know they can get away with anything with a little slap on the wrist. Enough pro-active policing and fines would be a deterrent. I don't want my city like Portland, which is an exaggerated example. We have plenty of crime in Lake Worth. Our budget for public safety is $20,632,178. We deserve more than a drone.
Lynn, every time you see somebody standing on the corner with a cell phone, who do you think they are calling?
Your little area is not immune from this activity, but it pales in comparison to the City proper.
Do you think this is the highest and best use of a Deputies time?
@2:18--can't answer that question as I NEVER see PBSO but I do know that take 54% of our operating budget.
That's good! That means you live in a low crime area. I see them a lot. Everywhere I go.
Well, we haven't had our town burned down and looted, have we? We have a well trained fully equipped Police Department. This is no time to resent law-enforcement. Get a grip!
NO ONE IS RESENTING LAW ENFORCEMENT, LEAST OF ALL ME!!
Are you kidding?
