The Promotion of Ballot Initiative #3 (Gulfstream Hotel) Lake Worth (Beach)
Everyone who is a Lake Worth (Beach) registered voter has received this mailing. I'm sure it was just not the super voters. The City has gone bat chit crazy in promoting this up\zoning for the Gulfstream parcels. They are desperate to have a hotel once again. PAPA still has the owner as Hudson Holdings. You remember what they wanted to do...it was all about upzoning and grabbing our beach.
An Electioneering Communications Committee was formed to involve itself in Lake Worth (Beach) elections. It was signed by a Lisa Mark, chairperson, who possibly/probably lives in Boca. The bank they are using is in Boca Raton. Hudson Holdings' mailing address is Boca. Coincidence?
Just because they say so, there is no guaranty a hotel will ever be built on those parcels or the structure there will be renovated. Not only are they promoting a "YES" vote on March 17 for amendment 3 which is to raise the height 20 additional feet, but the Time to Save the Historic Gulfstream PC was formed to involve itself in supporting or opposing issues or candidates for municipal or County offices, not just Lake Worth.
This leads me to believe developers are behind this initiative and the City supports them. Someone with big money. It also suggests that Hudson Holdings is still in the game and the City of Lake Worth (Beach) is its usual non-transparent working behind the scenes. Who knows. The city might be funding and approving this mailer. It could be a line item under "education" purposes. The city used our Casino and tax payer funds to promote the supposed "developers" of the Gulfstream, Amy and Amrit Gill, who have been involved in historic renovations. Who are they? Where did they come from? Hudson Holdings reached out to them.
Read the PBPost article about the developers who just have to have 87 feet.
The Committee uses a POBox at UPS as its address so that no one can trace who they really are. By law, an electioneering communications committee can use a POBox. In fact, they don't even have to prove who in the heck they are when they register their committee. No one asks for proof--no photo ID, no driver's license or even where they reside. You can be Suzie Q from Timbuktu--no one cares. I believe voters need to be protected and transparency is a must.
Cleverly they are using a phone number that belongs to someone who rents in Greenacres according to an Internet search. Because he rents, you can't find out anything about him either.
I plan on voting NO on all three ballot questions and urge you to do the same. The City is working on everyone's emotions regarding the Gulfstream Hotel and it has the residents "hooked" on nostalgia, a real political deceptive ploy all for the benefit of developers.

This city is so damn corrupt it's not even funny ! This has NOTHING to do with the Gulfstream. I'm going to have a weenie roast on Lucerne Ave when they knock the Gulfsteam down due to neglect ! Bornstein will probably sell the bricks from the rubble to finance an artist colony.
