No raises until city is great again
Our politics here in Lake Worth should be all about re-connection and realizing how beautiful it once was. This vision put forward by our mayor and certain commissioners, of growth as prosperity for our area, has been disastrous, creating nothing but gridlock and the never-ending pursuit of debt, such as the bond issue, to solve problems.
Lake Worth should be willing to introduce bold programs such as expanding solar and wind power, and move away from expensive fossil fuels. It would set an example to the rest of the county that this city can net responsibly and have a cheap source of power into the future.
Goals other than profit-making would ensure a quick transition for all.
We must keep the money we generate in our local community and stop giving it to outside sources. We must demand from our representatives that they start to localize our economy again and let the residents have a greater say in moving forward.
Then, and only then, should our mayor and commissioners be looking for a pay raise.

Too late, James. Where were you at the city commission meetings on this subject?
It wouldn't have mattered if we had a thousand people attend a meeting to say no. The trio does not care about the people of Lake Worth. Only themselves and their sugar daddies. Thanks to James for making the effort to write a letter to the newspaper.
@10:34. You're 100% right on that. It wouldn't matter if the entire city showed up to speak out against their humongous pay raise.
As it turns out, a cop hating psycho might be close to reality. Who knew then? The "middle age house frau" has her own business and teaches at PB Community College. She was very ill and was even hospitalized during that campaign. Who is the lying "flipper"?
