Let's get an Even Playing Field

It's time for real transparency in Tallahassee, says Alex Snitker who wrote an opinion piece for Sunshine State News.

I have always believed that every candidate running for elected office should  be working with the exact same amount of funds...no hidden contributions...no possibility of special interests influencing our elections...run on your own merits.  But it happens all of the time with Political Committees in spite of the fact that there are limits on individual contributions.

Take Fl Sen. Jeff Clemens, chair of Each Vote Counts PC as a prime example--As of June 30, 2017, that committee had expended $917,187.70 to influence elections. He is chair of another committee--Florida Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee
that has reported $960,627.50 in contributions and $433,015.38 in expenditures since June 30, 2017.

PC's can give unlimited amounts. Let's get special interests out of our elections.

Thanks Lynn for sharing about our former a-hole mayor! How corrupt! Then you wonder why they do favors for these people when in office. They should not allow all these special interest groups to donate AT ALL!

It says, "Florida Power & Light and ABC Fine Wine and Spirits shared the top donor spot, with each group writing a $15,000 check to Clemens’ committee.

Another $25,000 came in from law firms, including $10,000 a piece from Coral Gables-based Haggard Law Firm and West Palm Beach-based Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, while Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, PA forked over $5,000."

Gee, I wonder what they want and what he can do for them?
clemens is a snake, he was bad in LW and now worse for our state, he is self serving and a real looser. Why do people allow these a-holes to represent us, are they that blind and stupid.I would never vote for this idiot nor speak to him, he does not deserve our respect or for us to even look at him, corrupt, greedy, and self serving, selfish B. I wonder if he will rot in hell someday? or maybe a prison?

People seem to like him. I'm not one of them. He just keeps on winning!
