Everyone needs to cool down, Democrats and Republicans alike. We also must trust President Trump in his strategy and negotiations. He is not a dummy as every Democrat believes.
We need an open mind...look at the big picture. We need to make sure that we avoid an accidental war and not step on Putin's toes too hard. The United States has meddled in elections for decades; both sides do it. As President Putin alluded, he did not fly to Helsinki, nor did President Trump, just to have our president condemn him in the harshest of ways. That would have gotten us nowhere and set back relations possibly never to be mended.
President Trump did not attack Putin the way in which some here wanted him to do. He was into detente, not talking tough. We can make progress with the Russians if they now cease meddling in our elections. Russian President Putin knows that we know what Russia did in our 2016 election but Trump refused, and rightfully so, to harp on it with the knowledge of it very possibly setting back future good relations for years to come. Respect begets respect. Trump lowered his ego today with the hopes of getting their relationship back on track.
It is better now to move forward and work together for peace in this world.

Lynn has it right. We shouldn't be upset with the fact that Russia hacked into America's system of democracy. Mr. Putin deserves our respect and our gratitude. No good comes from being mean with people who threat America. Another good example is Rocket Man. Look what being nice to him has got us.
