Big beauty is in the eye of the beholder
By Bob Frantz, Strickly SpeakingAnd these eyes are enjoying a glorious visage when they gaze upon the victories obtained in the Big Beautiful Bill--now the Big Beautiful Law.
The massive reconciliation bill signed by President Trump on Independence Day is a not a perfect piece of legislation, due to the debt and deficits that our country continues to struggle with, but to focus on the downside would be to ignore the massive wins for middle class Americans and small businesses.
Thanks to the work put in by the GOP-led House and Senate, the new law makes permanent the largest tax cut in history, which was passed under President Trump's leadership in 2017. Additionally, the law brings a permanent $2,200 child tax credit and a $40,000 SALT deduction cap through 2029, putting real cash back in people’s wallets.
Border security gets a massive boost with $20 billion shifted from defunded agencies to strengthen immigration enforcement, which should make permanent the airtight border we now enjoy after the four-year invasion invited by Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas. The immigration funding will also unleash the full power of Tom Homan's deportation task force, as more ICE agents can be hired to get on with the business of returning America to Americans.
School choice takes off with expanded tax credits for private and charter schools, giving parents more control over their kids’ education. Military readiness is strengthened with $100 billion in new defense funding to modernize our forces and counter global threats.
Again, we are well aware that the $5 trillion debt ceiling increase and $3.3 trillion deficit over 10 years raise some eyebrows, but those estimates do not take into consideration the massive growth expected in our economy and tariff revenue to be collected from foreign sources.
Either way, they are small trade-offs for a bill that rolls back green energy subsidies and adds work requirements to Medicaid and SNAP, ensuring that there will be far fewer wasted tax dollars under the terms of the new law.
This law delivers practical, pro-American results that prioritize prosperity and security, no matter how many hours Hack Jeffries wants to spend crying the blues on behalf of his broken party.

I think we have to wait and see Bob. At this point, I don't know how it will affect me, I'm actually more concerned about the cuts the Health Insurance Companies are making, which you hardly become aware of until your coverage is denied. You certainly spent some time reading about the new BILL, maybe you put the same effort into deciphering Managed Care.
@2:16...unless you are on Medicaid you might have to work a minimum of 20 hours or do some community service to keep the benefit. What cuts specifically are "the health Insurance Companies" making?
I'm not talking about Medicaid. I'm talking about the Medicare Advantage Plans, and the PPO vs the HMO plans. As an example, in Miami, UHC eliminated the PPO Plans, and will probably extend that to Palm Beach County for 2026. The PPO plan has better coverage, and it covers you if you happen to be in another state. It's always been a better plan than the HMO, but I think it is going bye-bye!
