U.S. now has permanent control over Greenland Security

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a deal with the leaders of Greenland and Denmark

This will allow a larger U.S. military presence in the key Arctic territory

Trump participated in a signing ceremony on the morning of Sept. 22 alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen at the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.

“This HISTORIC deal is critical for American national security and defense in the Arctic Region,” the White House wrote in a statement on X.

During his address to the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 22, Trump announced that the United States will build two major military bases in Greenland.

“No U.S. adversary will ever be permitted to establish a military presence in Greenland anymore, or make sensitive investments there without our express written approval,” Trump said. “We will immediately begin the process of developing a large military presence in the appropriate locations.”
