FEMA Still wants its money from Lake Worth (Beach)

I have written about this through the years where the city took millions of government money that it was not entitled to according to FEMA because of sloppy accounting or even possible fraud (buying personal sfuff at Sam's Club?) according to our outside auditors at the time. The biggest abuses were in the Utility Department. We even had a city manager, Paul Boyer, who was fired.

In 2010, years after the Hurricanes, FEMA sent a letter to the City requesting it pay back $8.1 million. At that time, city manager Bornstein said that the claim had been negotiated down to just less than $4 million, (the claim today is $4.3 million) but it is still money that Bornstein says the City does not have. "It would almost kill us," Bornstein said. "We're a city that doesn't have a lot of money, we're financially strained like a lot of cities."

The major problem STILL, is that the city can't prove its claims. So now the city is suing FEMA...can you believe that one? They even have Lois Frankel still on their side.  FEMA  wants the $4.3 million returned. So, instead of believing the audit, acknowledging the gross mistakes and abuse of the City in spending these massive amounts of money, it is easier to sue today and blame it on a "technicality."

Read today's article in the Palm Beach Post on the lawsuit. The City Manager is still lamenting and  blaming FEMA. At that time, it was documented that they were unable to prove their claims because of faulty record keeping and/or unable to produce records and receipts.

I used to go to McDonalds on Dixie Highway when my Mom took my brother and me as young children. It was a special treat. They had the absolute best french fries in the world and we loved their burgers.

When I was in my mid to late 20's, I stopped by there on my way home from work to buy my grandfather a bag of their fries...he loved them as much as I.

So it is with shock and dismay that they were recently closed on August 9 by the DBPR for live and dead roaches, live insects, etc. Eight violations were found. McDonalds reopened that day.

37 of 435 U.S. Representatives earned A+ grades in first half of this year

for exemplary efforts for (a) less immigration, (b) less foreign workers, and (c) less government-forced U.S. population growth.

More than half (56%) of our U.S. Representatives earned an F or F-minus thus far this year! As you may guess, the vast majority were Democrats.

Rep Brian Mast got an A! Senators Marco Rubio has an overall rating of B+ and Rick Scott has an overall rating of F as he obviously didn't bother to vote or contribute on these important subjects. Both received F's Minus for the three categories mentioned above. You can't get much lower than that folks! There was one other Republican from Miami who received an F, Mario Diaz-Balart whose record shows his lack of interest in curbing illegal immigration.

Why am I considered dangerous?

I also fully support the policies of President Trump . . . especially on Immigration.

I have held the mothers of children murdered by illegal, criminal aliens.

I have seen the tears and pain in their eyes as they showed me pictures of their sons and daughters who have been senselessly killed because of "tolerant" democrat policies.

The democrat I'm running against, Lois Frankel, is a three-term incumbent of Florida's 21st Congressional District.

Rather than supporting President Trump's policies – or even working to compromise – she would rather focus on "aggressive investigations" of our President.

So far in her current term representing Florida 21, Lois Frankel has voted to support President Trump's position only 5.6% of the time!

As Lake Worth is a "Welcoming City" and the Guatemalan-Maya Center is here giving assistance to illegals and other immigrants as well as encouraging them to cross our border, this will affect possibly thousands who live in our city.

FLIMEN says: Senator Simmons apparently does not understand that a refugee is not an illegal alien as a refugee does have legal presence. It is unclear to FLIMEN at this point if other states are actually issuing work permits as work permits are not normally issued by states. In any case, FLIMEN will aggressively oppose his bill.

Lake Worth Sailing Club wants to be a Welcoming Committee at Docks

Snook Islands dock debate: Sailing club wants to anchor a welcoming yacht

"Lake Worth Sailing Club began lobbying the city manager to use some part of the Snook Islands' docks. The club would like to anchor a yacht at the dock and serve as a sort of welcoming committee, managing and monitoring visiting boats."

The item, brought forward by Commissioner Robinson, a member of the Sailing Club, was on the Agenda Tuesday night under New Business. Commissioner Amoroso tabled it for six months so that they can study the situation. His motion passed on a 3/2 with Robinson and Hardy dissenting.

Amoroso was on the right side of the vote, again.
