On Friday, November 1, Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery holds a reception for its newest neighbors, the artists from the Lake Worth Arts Lofts.  The Arts Lofts are live/work spaces created by Lake Worth’s CRA as part of the Arts Renaissance and the rapidly growing arts movement in town.  Twelve diverse artists have taken these spaces and are quickly turning them into a working haven and a tightly knit community.  These artists will be displaying their works, performing, and introducing themselves to their neighbors and the neighborhood.  The synergy created by the influx of talent in the community is palpable.  The evening is free and open to the public.  A wine and food buffet, music and the mingling of the gallery’s artists with the Art Loft artists will take place from 6-9 PM.  A great time for the entire community to come to J Street for an evening of fun and revelry. Friday, November 8- The Children from Jacmel Haiti are coming.  For the last five years, the artists of the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery have supported the children of the Arts Creation Foundation in Haiti.  These children suffered greatly from the earthquake that killed over 300,000 Haitians.  Through the Arts Creation Foundation the children have learned to survive through the creation of art.  Every March the gallery holds a Haitian Empty Bowl Fundraiser for these children.  Artists have made up to 500 bowls each year.  These bowls are sold and the participants take them to 20 restaurants throughout town, each filling the bowls with wonderful foods.  With the funds raised the children get water treatment systems, some housing and whatever their greatest needs are.  The reception for the children will take place from 6-9 PM.  Art works created by the children will be on sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the Arts Creation Foundation.  This is a wonderful opportunity to directly meet the children you have helped through your donations. The Foundation will accept additional donations as well.
Thursday, November 14- The Bus Stops Here as the Magical Mystery Tour of Lake Worth begins:  The Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery welcomes busload after busload of visitors to Lake Worth for a day of Magic and Mystery.  Buses unload at the Gallery on J Street for a visit, gifts, treats and arts demonstrations and then fan out into the town for a day of fun, food and entertainment.  Four busloads have already booked.  There is room for six more.  For reservations for your group contact Barbara, 1-800-838-5931. Friday, November 15- MadCap Motion at Clay Glass Metal Stone Galley- And an Inner Chord Fundraiser as well: Three of Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery’s most popular and prolific artists will try their hands at Art in Motion for a MadCap exhibition.  With the three of them, we never know what to expect, but what ever it is, it’s will be great art and great fun.  MaryEllen Dohrs, the dean of local sculptors, was the first woman interior designer in the automobile industry.  She designed the interior of Hoppalong Cassidy’s car and has a huge following among Packard enthusiasts who hail her as a hero at many of their conventions. From her award winning sports figures to her whimsical animals, frog and snail sculptures, MaryEllen shows a virtuosity in ever piece she makes.  What she will do with “motion” we do not know.  She will surprise us, but it will be a surprise well worth waiting for.  Linda Manganaro creates art from found objects and along with husband Kelly Dean Manganaro; they are working on a series they say will knock our socks off.  The gallery is currently filled with their large scale works that grace the walls and can be displayed both inside and outside of homes and businesses. Inner Chords- A Benefit: On the stage outside the gallery a galaxy of performers will be working hard to raise funds for Inner Chords, a non-profit whose mission is to educate children of Palm Beach County in language arts through the visual arts. Performers include Gyorgy Lakatos, Eastern European gypsy music; Gin,  from Inhouse, acoustic rock and award winning Marie Nofsinger, folk/country acoustic and one of Florida’s top vocal performers. Sunday, November 17: Artist Sale on the Parking Lots of Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, 15 South J Street:  The gallery now has the luxury of two parking lots large enough to host member artists and artists’ friends inside and outside the gallery.  This is a real artists’ yard sale with big discounts on art items that need to leave the nest, art supplies, and art-like treasures that need to be let go so some more can be collected. Think “Artists’ Flea Market” for this event, for who would have more interesting trash, treasures, furniture and equipment to get rid of than artists.  Artists who want to participate can contact Betty Wilson and Linda Manganaro, parking lot show curators at Potteryme@aol.com. The sale will take place from 10AM to 4PM.
Wednesday, November 20: Judaica Show at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery: The Gallery will hold its Fourth Annual Judaica Show just in time for the early Hanukah celebration.  The show will take place from 10AM to 9PM.  Ten gallery artists will be displaying and selling works for the wall, the table and the ritual.  Because of the uniqueness of each artist’s expression, these works of art, both decorative and utilitarian, are one of a kind and affordable.  The gallery welcomes group tours throughout the day and evening  and will be serving refreshments for all who visit. Black Friday, November 29th  and Small Business Saturday, November 30- Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery open for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday: After a delicious Thanksgiving meal, the artists come back to the gallery for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.  Each artist will indicate the once a year percentages they will take off of the art they are displaying in the gallery.  Artist spaces will be tagged with percentages from 5% to 30%.  Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery is a cooperative.  The artists’ set their own prices and set their own discounts.  For those of you who have been lingering over the extraordinary works in the gallery, this is the weekend to strike while the once a year discounts are hot!
