Expect the rowdy kids to head to Lake Worth over Labor day weekend. Of course, few have ever worked and many are clueless as to what we are honoring: contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, the well-being of the country and the labor movement.
We even have a 28 year old NFL quarterback who is ungrateful for what life has given him: Kaepernick signed a 6 year, $114,000,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $12,328,766 signing bonus, $61,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $19,000,000. NFL players are under a collective bargaining agreement.
When someone of this stature dishonors our country, kids are impressionable and think things like this are "cool."
Will we see any deputies on the streets of downtown Lake Worth beginning Friday night at 10pm?
Read about WPB's curfew...

Republicans have been the biggest enemy of labor unions over the years. They hate them...although they'll hypocritically enjoy the holiday and gush faux praise for the contributions that unions have made for the workers of this country.
Hope you, too, enjoy your Labor Day.
I agree with that.
We don't hypocritically "enjoy" the holiday. It is what it is and made a national holiday under Democrat, Grover Cleveland. I never worked under a union and all I can say is, thank God. Believing in the free enterprise system, unions have broken the backs of cities all across America. Why are we in so much debt here in Lake Worth? Look at the union contracts, benefits and pension plans.
The purpose of my statements on Kaepernick was to show the hypocrisy of a multi-millionaire football player who was a union member and putting down this country and what it stands for.
As far as my enjoying "my labor day," I worked for 40 years and will enjoy my retirement, knowing that what ever success I had was due to my own initiatives, not from union demands made to any employer.
Kids under the age of 18 NEVER should be out after 10PM in a public place! The curfew needs to be permanent!
