Pioneers of Jewell presentation in Lake Worth

Comment Up

Invitation from Genesis Neighborhood Association that "isn't" a neighborhood association but really is a neighborhood association--

Message from Mark:

I am writing to share an overview of what we have been able to accomplish so far in 2014. First I will “apologize” to the anonymous naysayers that swear Genesis is non-existent and dead in the water. Sorry to disappoint you but we are ALIVE AND WELL AND GOING REAL STRONG! The three loudest anonymous posting haters of Genesis gave me some extra incentive to go the extra mile! Thanks for the help haters! You do serve a purpose after all, aside from comic relief. *Completed 2013-2014 PBC R.E.A.P. Seminars - grant application qualified/accepted - awaiting notification if we get recommended for $5,000.00 award

*If we are awarded this grant it will be to purchase children’s playground equipment to be installed within Genesis Boundaries on a lot TBD

*Secured corporate sponsor “Signature Excelerated Care” for the whole year of 2014 - They will sponsor four (4) community benefit events

*1st event will be the free painting of a home for a senior(s) who own and reside in their home within the Genesis Boundaries

*We have received multiple entries for the home painting already, we will continue to accept applications until February 28, 2014.

*2nd event will be Great American Clean Up on April 12, 2014 - light refreshment provided by Signature>

*Next two events TBD at our first general meeting in 2014 - Light refreshments will be provided by Signature - Guest Speaker Exec. Director of Signature

*There will be several fundraisers that are being planned for the Pinecrest Cemetery Fence Project - several local business owners on board

*CBS12 has already provided coverage for the Pinecrest Cemetery Fence project. Stay tuned for follow ups on the story by Peter Schaller

*Secured an anonymous donor that paid for five (5) years of domain registration and hosting for www.genesislakeworth.org

*New website built and launched 1/26/2014 www.genesislakeworth.org

*We have submitted an application for a grant to fund the purchase of replacement decorative banners to replace the ones the windy weather destroyed after they were installed two years ago after being awarded a county grant to purchase them.

Aren't the association board members supposed to live in the neighborhood they represent? Even Greg Rice as president of Mango Grove NA does not live in the MGNA but he likes to say he lives in the Lucerne which is in Downtown Jewell NA.

That's not true as far as I understand it. Also, Greg Rice is homesteaded at The Lucerne.

For your edification anonymous 3:17pm each and every neighborhood association has it's own by-laws that govern their organization. The by-laws for Genesis, that were voted on and accepted, allow for the President/Chairman of the Board to live at-large.

As said before Genesis is not a functioning N.A. This is mostly nonsense and claims will not be followed thru.

Hey anonymous JW if you would like to see how "not functioning" Genesis is look out your window Tuesday morning April 22, 2014. Before then you will hear the hammering of a contractor acquired to do the soffit repairs of Mrs. Grant's home before we paint it. So much for claims not being followed through. Every goal that Genesis has set out to do we have followed thru on successfully. Our track record in the city and annual reports to the Mayor and Commissioners with pictures as back up of our accomplishments are public record and speak for themselves. Instead of blowing so much hot air come out and join us to help a neighbor. It will do you some good instead of not doing anything in the neighborhood you have lived in for quite sometime. Need help with your Code citation to get your house painted? I will gladly ask Signature to do your house next since we have three more community benefits to do. God bless you. xoxoxo
