Back in the 50's, it was so far-fetched that no one believed him about the Commies.

Yes, it's only a matter of time before MAGA circled back to guys like Joe McCarthy for inspiration. Do you know anything about Joe McCarthy, Lynn, other than the fact that he was against communists? Anything?
Not that it would stop you from mentioning him because you're not a decent person. Check out Wikipedia, Lynn. He was a scumbag. A terrible American. Not because he hated Communists. Because he was horrible person.

McCarthy’s usable political skill was issue entrepreneurship: he convinced institutions that they could not ignore his subject. His fatal weakness was that the accusation itself became his political product. Once the public saw the process closely, evidentiary recklessness overwhelmed the underlying issue. A modern leader would therefore need to act less like an inquisitor and more like a combination of: an inspector general; an investigative journalist; a constitutional lawyer; a legislative entrepreneur; and a movement organizer. 3. Build an institution, not a personality cult The contemporary equivalent would probably not be one senator. It would be a network of legally separate, publicly accountable organizations. And more useful to our discussions, the proofs from history....... Authoritarian communist movements have repeatedly produced coercive confiscation, political imprisonment, suppression of opposition, and mass suffering. Americans therefore have compelling reasons to study, expose, criticize, and politically defeat such doctrines. But belief and abstract advocacy remain protected. Criminal liability begins when an individual intentionally converts doctrine into concrete unlawful action through solicitation, conspiracy, coercion, threats, sabotage, espionage, undeclared foreign direction, violent seizure, or direct assistance to criminal conduct.
Oh Peter you and Cara and Javier and all have been pushing all your anarchism for years now 20-30 years of all of your crap trying to destroy the city you all want to live off the government get everything for free and not have to work at all I'm sure your parents wouldn't approve of what you're doing and what you're saying and all your hate, oh you just love communism so much and socialism and not having to do anything and everything's free from the government you're just so idealistic with your anarchist and communist ways aren't you?
