3-year-old child shot in Lake Worth Beach

"The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating how a 3-year-old was shot Friday afternoon.

Spokeswoman Teri Barbera said the injured child was brought to the St. Mary’s Medical Center around 4:30 p.m.

Detectives arrived at the hospital and learned the child may have been shot in the 900 block of South A Street in Lake Worth Beach.

Barbera said detectives are responding to that area to investigate.
