When courts rule their way, they call it democracy. When courts enforce the Constitution against them, they plot to gut the court.
After their redistricting scheme collapsed, Democrats reportedly floated lowering the Virginia Supreme Court retirement age to 54—conveniently wiping out the whole bench and letting them install friendlier judges.
That is not reform. That is court-packing by guillotine. And if this is what they are willing to discuss at the state level, imagine what they will do to SCOTUS with federal power. [Luthmann]
