Lake Worth Beach man arrested in hit-and-run after victim dies three weeks after crash
Jorge Milian, Palm Beach Post"A 60-year-old Lake Worth Beach man was arrested Friday afternoon in hit-and-run crash Sept. 17 that left a pedestrian dead, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
Stacey Abo, 65, of Lake Worth Beach, died Oct. 9, more than three weeks after she was struck by a 1997 Ford F-150 that deputies said was driven by Ivan Acevedo Gonzalez.
Jail records show Acevedo Gonzalez is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $250,000 bail. He is facing a charge of hit-and-run in a crash involving death, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
Abo was struck as she used the pedestrian crosswalk to cross 10th Avenue North at Boutwell Road at about 8:51 a.m. Sept. 17, deputies said. The impact threw Abo onto the pavement, where she landed on the shoulder of the avenue."

The big problem that area of 10th avenue all the way out to jog road from there it's like a freeway now and cars are driving in 55 65 70 on that road they're like crazy it's so out of control they turn all these areas that have a lot of pedestrians into like freeways and there's never any police to enforce anything they have all these low speeds in certain areas but then no one follows the speeds no one enforces the speeds where are the police why aren't they checking this and being out there more you never see any police on 10th avenue ever in those areas very neglected that whole area there Congress and tenth avenue they have Palm springs police who are very limited they need more sheriffs in that area!
Everybody's in such a big hurry to drive off the abyss! Everyone needs to slow down and have more patience and stop being so crazy and reckless as drivers there's so much aggression and aggressive drivers today on the road it's absolutely crazy and out of control everyone's in such a big hurry to get where to fall off a cliff? It's so crazy now the guy's going to end up being in jail for the next 30 plus years was it worth it I wish everyone would learn a lesson from this one example! So sad for her and her family!
