Andy Amoroso is the culprit says Peters sisters

Peters Development owns 39 properties in downtown Lake Worth. Now they say they are pulling the plug on their idea of opening a store for rare Nikes and Air Jordan sneakers.

Why are they doing that?

It has everything to do with commissioner Andy Amoroso.

Read about it...

They were supposed to setup this store over a year ago. Its daddy trying to stick it to Andy for supposedly saying something negative about his daughters. The girls say it, someone made them an offer to lease. These type of stores are successful in major urban cities - Atlanta has a few, NY too. Daddy bought his daughters a city he doesnt care about. Newspaper in the windows of closed businesses, millions in repairs needed, he is picking and choosing which businesses get to move into our city. And if daddy really wants his daughters to be independent business women, he needs to let them get used to being spoken about negatively and still make the right business decisions. Andy, as a city commissioner, downtown, proactively speaking up and making changes that benefit the downtown businesses was a major asset to the Peters Family. Doug's hot head cut off his own foot.

This shop would do better in Palm Beach or Boca. Amoroso's bullying probably did them a favor.
Would love to see a store like the old Halsey Griffith.
So happy Bully in the Baseball Cap will be gone from our down town.

I'm more worried about Peters than I am about Andy. They own every vacant building in town. If you can't afford to buy the place, you can't afford to be in business. End Of Story!

If shopkeepers can't afford the rents, we could have a ghost town. Hey girls, don't escalate the rents too much.

Get rid of the thrift stores! Go Peters Deveopment! You go girls! The current Starbucks location will be a marijuana shop once recreational use is legal in Florida, wont be long 2-3 years.

“We weren’t even asking for money,” he said.

Boca Raton, where the family has a home, has shown some interest and has offered the Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency money for the sisters to open their store in Boca. “We weren’t even asking for money,” he said.

All new business ventures are a gamble. Look at the success of Common Grounds Coffee Shop on J Street. Their business is phenomenal. The coffee is excellent, and the coffee cake is to die for. Just a simple concept: a coffee shop; a gathering place, an unfettered place to meet and discuss whatever.

A store selling sneakers that are $100's of dollars in Downtown Lake Worth? It would not last a year. Who is going to buy them? The homeless who have over run the downtown? Don't think so!

Sneaker store? Ghetto. PB won't have it. Downgrade. The fade barber shop failed.
