ICE just made important arrests

ICE arrests niece and grandniece of slain Iranian Gen. Soleimani over ties to Tehran regime

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, the niece of the late Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander Gen. Qasem Soleimani, and her daughter on Friday, the State Department confirmed the following day.

The pair had been living in the United States on green cards while, the government alleges, openly championing the Iranian regime and celebrating attacks on American troops.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the action on X Saturday, framing it as part of a broader campaign to strip legal residency from foreign nationals with direct ties to Tehran's ruling apparatus. Afshar's husband, whom the State Department did not name, has also been barred from entering the country.

The arrests mark the latest move in what the Trump administration describes as a systematic effort to revoke green cards held by individuals connected to the Iranian regime, a push that also saw the State Department terminate the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larjiani last month.

Ardeshir-Larjiani is the daughter of Ali Larjiani, the former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. Together, the cases send an unmistakable signal: blood ties to Tehran's security establishment no longer guarantee a comfortable perch on American soil.
