A federal court struck down California’s requirement that masked federal agents identify themselves
This is a blow to the state’s ongoing resistance to the Trump administration’s deportation program
A 9th U.S. Circuit Court panel handed down a ruling prohibiting California from enforcing a section of the 2025 law that mandates federal law enforcement officers visibly display identification while carrying out their duties.The law was destined to face critical scrutiny from the federal judiciary. An 1890 Supreme Court case provides that a state cannot prosecute federal law enforcement officers acting in the course of their duties.
The law also ran headlong into the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, which holds that states may not regulate the operations of the federal government.
Gov. Gavin Newsom signed it in connection with a law that banned federal immigration agents from wearing masks. The Trump administration sued to challenge both of them.

I'm glad to see this. Given what they're doing, I don't blame them for hiding their identity. What would their neighbors think of them if they knew they were ICE? Would restaurants serve them? Would the churches they go to tell them they're not wanted? What would their kids think of what they're doing years from now when they're older. They need to remain faceless so they can continue to carry out Trump's orders.
@11:40...They don't carry out Trump's orders; they carry out the law. Any neighbor, any restaurant any church, etc. would be happy to have law abiding federal workers making the community safe. And they need to wear masks because of people such as you. Their kids have more brains than nutty parents endocrinating them to hate and being afraid of those helping them.
Doesn't any country have a right to enforce their immigration laws? Why are so many idiots against any law and order in this country at all?

You read my words under my name...and made an opinion based on your silly comment...my reply to you is called accountability in my book. ICE should never be embarrased or intimidated by Democrats and always need to fulfill their duties and keep themselves as safe as possible. Masks work.
