Dem Congressman: ‘Trump is Going to Win’ And Democracy Will Be Fine

Democratic Congressman Jared Golden criticized his panicking colleagues in an op-ed Tuesday, accusing them of fearmongering in the wake of President Joe Biden’s feeble debate performance.

While Golden says he will not support Donald Trump in the election, he admitted Biden did a “poor” job at last week’s debate and that a second Trump term is likely imminent. Still, he said the outcome did not “rattle” him, calling Democrats’ fears about the end of U.S. democracy overblown.

“There are winners and losers in every election. Democrats’ post-debate hand-wringing is based on the idea that a Trump victory is not just a political loss, but a unique threat to our democracy.
