George Zimmerman

Comment Up

The Judge is done. The jury is ready to deliberate.

As the poll function is not working properly on Blogger today, what do you believe the verdict will be?
  • Not guilty
  • Guilty of Second Degree murder--25 years to life in prison
  • Guilty of Manslaughter--up to 30 years in prison
  • Hung Jury

John Guy, Assistant Prosecutor
who gave a brilliant rebuttal closing argument.

I'm just flabbergasted about how different people see this right down racial lines. Reminds me of the O.J. trial.

It certainly is a horrible and tragic event. Zimmerman should have stayed in his car and this never would have happened. But to accuse him of 2nd degree murder or even manslaughter will be difficult as there is reasonable doubt.

He will be found not guilty

this is a hard cAll. under the explanations, it doesn't seem like they can convict him of anything intentional.

Anybody that thinks Zimmerman is guilty has really been reaching. They didnt even have a case. He was attacked by a thug that could have just went home instead of putting a person in a position to kill him in self defense.Zimmerman had already been cleared of any charges after strong scrutiny. Then the media started with their white hispanic talk and started a racially motivated witch hunt with ne regards to the defendant. Now the poor guy that was attacked and had t do the unthinkable will also be broke for the rest of his life paying the lawyers that defended him.

I'll play devil's advocate here. I also think he'll get off and probably should.

1) His intentions were good, helping his neighborhood after series of break-ins.

2)As a crime "watch" captain, he's not supposed to carry a weapon. It is an observer's patrol.

3) The "child" young man, youth, kid, or thug (pick one) was acting suspiciously simply by being out in the rain at night. Could have been checking out cars to break into by the looks of it.

4)What ever made him sucker punch GZ? If he'd been asked what are you doing here, he could have engaged in conversation, instead he sucker punched GZ.

5) TM deserved to be shot for what he did just as much as GZ deserved to be sucker punched for following him. GZ did not assault TM, it was the other way around.

The moment it became physical, self defense is allowed anywhere. So now the question is, how much self defense is enough?
