Rent is a rock musical with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini opera. It tells a story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. This play won multiple awards on Broadway.I thought the second act was far superior to the first and Shane Blanford, a regular at the Lake Worth Playhouse, was amazing and sensitive in his role of Roger.
Only one more performance tonight and RENT is over.
