Bob Baldwin

Remember this guy? We used to see him around City Hall on occasion

Bob Baldwin, former City Manger, knew very well the desires of the Commission on employment contracts—the commission did not want ANY employment contracts implemented. The Commission was very clear when telling Bob Baldwin of its desires, policy or no formal policy. It was brought up in various meetings by Retha Lowe and others. It was said many times on the dais—NO MORE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS. The last time it was discussed was at a workshop only two weeks before he left for another job in Dania.

Now, what do you think happened? Did he have short term Alzheimer’s? What does he do? Right before he leaves office, he writes three employment contracts unbeknown to the City Commission. He knew their feelings but did not confer; he hid his dirty deed. He went ahead and authorized the employment contracts anyway, a man who was just about to leave the city’s employ in 98 seconds and a man who was allowed to get away with a non-chalence of do-nothing savoir faire for over 1.5 years. This was one guy who clearly hated his job and hated this city. The only interesting thing he brought to the table was when he told us how it was done in Lauderdale Lakes or wherever it was.

Now perhaps you can say he had a legal right to do this but I will say he had a moral and ethical obligation NOT to do so and because he was specifically told NOT to do it by his bosses, the Commission. He was paid a great salary NOT to perform, never come into work, and when he was here, he left early.

I personally believe that he should be sued as he knew the desire of the commission. He was there to take direction from the commission. He ignored this direction minutes before leaving his office (March 13 was the last day but by contract it was March 17th) and put the city in financial jeopardy, paying thousands of unnecessary dollars and benefits to these former employees. This is where the legal issue comes into effect.

On Tuesday, the Commission will be deliberating on whether to sue him. It couldn't happen to a more deserving guy who essentially told the Commission to stick it. Let's do it right back.

He was always saying that he takes his direction from the commission. He really did not have any idea as to what was going on other than collecting that paycheck until he could find some job he wanted. How is it working out for the city he moved to? Wehre did he go?

Well, unfortunately we got him here in Dania Beach. Spineless, passive and absolutely fearful of his job. Here in Dania Beach, commissioner Pat Flury lied to the residents of Dania Beach for over a year claiming that she lived in Dania Beach, when in reality she lived in Fort Lauderdale against the City Charter which states that one an elected official is no longer a BONA FIDE resident, they must forfeit their position IMMEDIATELY. For over a year, in the face of 2 televised channel 10 investigative reports on Flury, multiple stories written in the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald, Media Trackers, MyActsofSedition.com and signed court affidavits of Flury's REAL residence in Ft. Lauderdale, Bob Baldwin went completely silent and passively helped cover for this corruption and fraud until Flury resigned amidst the OVERWHELMING coverage and exposure. Can't say you weren't aware Big Bob - JELLYFISH!
