His wife was tied up as well and one report had her shot and another said that she was uninjured before the house was doused with gasoline and set ablaze. She and Dr. Morrissey’s 5 year old child managed to escape.
Why his home was targeted or why anyone has to die at the hands of some creep is a mystery and disturbing. Anyone of us can be at the wrong place at the wrong time but you always believe that your own home is safe. Police feel now that it might not have been random.
Police have a suspect in this senseless horrible murder of Dr. Morrissey whose American Dream was ended on April 6, 2010.

Sorry to read about this tragedy. Joe was my college roommate at USF that I lost track of since leaving USF back in the 80s. He was a great student and dedicated swimmer for the USF team. Very sad to read news of his death.
Police later arrested Randy Tundidor Sr. and son Randy Tundidor Jr., and charged them with murdering Joe Morrissey during the home invasion.
