Facts are sometimes elusive in Lake Worth

Comment Up
At last night's Lake Worth city commission meeting, Scott Maxwell was, once again, in an authoritative mood. When talking about the Siemens LED lights, he asked a question and Commissioner McVoy answered it by saying one word, "nope." Maxwell then said, "Excuse me," and ignored McVoy who actually knew the answer. The mayor said that Maxwell was talking but it was okay when she interrupted him.

He asked the city manager if we were going to have any budget meetings during the month of July because "historically" [an accurate picture of time] we don't have them in July. The city manager answered his question by stating that he believed there was a meeting scheduled for July.

So, after researching back five years, the following dates reflect budget meeting workshops held in the month of July. If you note, no budget meeting was held in July 2015 as the Audit was incomplete.  The Audit of the year ending on September 30 or the preceding year is taking longer and longer to produce.

According to our finance Director, Marie Elianor, our 2015 audit is expected on or before June 30, 2016.  Once received, the commissioners need to study it and compare it to the new proposed budget figures. You can't make decisions on where you're going without knowing where you've been.

Researching five years--Previous July dates of Budget meetings:
  • July 07, 2014
  • July 10, 2013
  • July 16, 2012
  • July 26, 2011
  • July 27, 2011

The Mayor has No Clue about the rules of procedure and
rebuts and Talks OVER our reps to shut them down or distort
the info (facts) presented! Our Charter requires at least
one meeting a month and this trio has disregarded that RULE!
Reps have the right to EXHAUST DEBATE! Not the Mayor's time
Limit of Patience but the elected reps RIGHT to do so!

She also seems compelled to MC a meeting and NOT Chair it properly!
She isn't funny and we do not need her type of humor to over ride
our sacred rules and regulations! It's a joke and why not - $127K
campaign donations over ride we the people, consent of the governed
and open the door wide for whatever donation trumps our voices!

Vice Mayor Maxwell seems HELL BENT on avoiding the will of the people
even after being told by Maier/McVoy and the Mayor about the New Lights
SPILLING INTO THE RESIDENTS WINDOWS! WTH is his problem? It's about US
not his silly games! Who the hell does he think he is - a SERVANT and
nothing more! Take your word salads and toss them Scott - and toss Peggy's
interpretation/defense of them like the useless salad they are! Defend all
our rights and not some that PUSH your unamerican agenda! A tyrant like YOU
is unfot to be the ruler of a FREE PEOPLE! Put it where the sun don't shine!

Reading Suzanne is always such a breath of fresh air. Makes me proud that she is ever vigilant over the word salads.

You saps really hate Maxwell. It must be making you crazy(er)to have him sit up there on the dias and enforce his will of what he wants for the city on you. Perfect irony.

We "saps" don't hate anyone. He should be enforcing the will of the people--not HIS WILL. He doesn't know what a public servant is. I would say that he just doesn't understand his job. He was even rude to the CM last night. This is like the boss from hell. But he's not the boss of the residents.

And thanks, Weetha, for being a watchdog for truth.

Sad thing is Lake Worth City government has been bought and paid for. Price $127,000.
I used to wonder how cities like Chicago got so corrupt. I don't anymore. I'm witnessing it.

I think even the Mayor was a little ticked off at Maxwell last night when she slammed her hand down on the dais when he was bitching about the lights. He even had the nerve to ask her if she had a problem. I am pretty sure the city manager was also a little upset with him also due to his interrogation of him. He was so busy stuffing his fat face with god knows what that he missed the point entirely. Contractual agreements are just that, stop trying to be a prick and question what is already agreed upon. He was probably missing his supporter Amaroso. 2 peas in an ugly pod. It is surprising what you can see when you review the video. His face was sooooo red when he was discussing the lights and anything else he was against. Boo Hoo
