Election Tomorrow

Comment Up

With one of the biggest achievements for the City of Lake Worth, Jo-Ann Golden, looking to the future, made a monumental decision when she voted to end the Contract with Palm Beach County for water thus saving $15 million already spent on our Reverse Osmosis system. Will this be enough to save her tomorrow? Will voters over-look her raising taxes, supporting a special assessment and voting in lock-step with the city manager?

For a newcomer to the scene of Lake Worth politics, Rachel Waterman got into the swing of things early on and formed important alliances within the Democratic Party. She is smart and was a quick study on the issues. She incorporated her "open door" policy for several hours during the week to get a better understanding of the concerns of her constituents. She revised "coffees with the mayor" during the campaign. She dissed half of the neighborhood association candidate forums. She listens but does she hear? Did she develop a repoire among those she serves? She refused to delay capital projects but instead, voted for the city manager's Budget that raised advalorem and other taxes plus a special assessment to pay for fire pensions. Does she really know better than the people she serves? The PB Post says she is the best choice. Is she?

Tomorrow voters will decide.

If I had to choose between Golden, and Waterman, I would choose Golden. She has done some good things for the City. Waterman on the other hand has not. Unless you call trying to split the City into Lovers and Haters, Look down at people, and act like she is better than everyone else.

Golden voted against PBSO, against Publix, against the Cultural Council but did vote to raise our taxes, spend hundreds of thousands on the Day Labor Center, and voted to give the City Manager every tax and assessment she wanted without ever standing up for the middle class guys and small businesses that need help. She is too interested in helping the illegals and homeless and as a result has helped destroy the property values in this city.

I'm not hoping nor praying... we the citizens of LW will get what we deserve. It will be based on how many voters will actually come out an vote. There are many more of us that work and pay taxes, but never seem to have the time to go vote... Let's do it!!! let's fire Golden and Waterman... my thoughts

To anon at 12:27 she did not do this alone, and you must remember it is most likely what Stanton wanted. Lets bite the bullet and and put our efforts towards getting rid of the biggest problem. Stanton has got to go

Golden may not be the best choice, but remember Andy was appointed to the CRA he is in the pocket of those that the City needs to be rid of.
