Lake Worth Commission Meeting

45 Minutes, that's all it took for our city's business.

The surprise of the night was when Scott Maxwell nominated Andy Amoroso to be the Vice Mayor and he in turn took Andy's spot as Mayor Pro-Tem. If you all recall, a few years ago Scott Maxwell stepped down as the liaison to the League of Cities (which used to be a big love of his) and nominated Andy Amoroso.

The question is, why is Maxwell stepping down from any extra involvement but had a burning desire to retain his commission seat by raising an ungodly amount of money? Is he all of a sudden uninterested in power or is something else going on? Once again, he did not have a desire for any organizational appointments. Perhaps this will free up his time to answer phone calls and e-mails?

Organizational Appointments were voted in as the same as last year:
  • Pam Triolo: Transportation Planning authority (previously known as the Metropolitan Planning Organization
  • Andy Amoroso: PB County League of Cities Liaison
  • Omari Hardy: Treasure Coast Regional Planning council
  • Andy Amoroso: CRA
  • Herman Robinson: Neighborhood Association Presidents' Council

  4. At least Herman comes to the NAPC meetings. Pam rarely made the meetings when she was the liaison.
