President-elect Donald Trump faced tough questioning from NBC News host Kristen Welker who reports on breaking news events during a Friday interview on “Meet the Press.” The interview, which aired on Sunday, saw Welker pressing Trump on his plans for the FBI and its current director, Christopher Wray.

The president-elect has nominated Kash Patel, a loyalist and defender of Trump, to take over Wray’s position. Welker wasted no time in asking Trump about the future of Wray and whether he plans to fire him.

Trump responded by stating, “Well, I can’t say I’m thrilled with him. He invaded my home – I’m suing the country over it. He invaded Mar-a-Lago.” Trump was referencing a 2022 FBI raid on his Florida estate in connection with allegations of mishandling classified documents.

When Welker brought up Wray’s performance as FBI director, Trump responded with even more criticism. “I’m very unhappy with the things he’s done and crime is at an all-time high. Migrants are pouring into the country that are from prisons and from mental institutions,” he said.
