According to a report from the New York Post, these cases were quietly dismissed by the U.S. government if the applicants didn’t have a criminal record or weren’t considered a threat to national security.

No asylum granted, no asylum denied—just erased from the system, allowing these individuals to move freely within the United States without the looming fear of deportation.

“This is just a massive amnesty under the guise of prosecutorial discretion,” says Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge now with the Center for Immigration Studies. “You’re basically allowing people who don’t have a right to be in the United States to be here indefinitely.”
