For the first time in my life, I applied for an absentee ballot as I will not have transportation to get to the polls on election day. After waiting two weeks and three calls to the Supervisor of Elections office and being told it's the post office's fault, I drove up there yesterday to claim my ballot for the August 23rd primary.
I was asked for my Driver's License and a short time later an employee came out with my ballot. I filled it in outside (by law you are not allowed to fill out your ballot in the interior) signed it, placed it in a sealed envelope and turned it in.
.The main room has been refurbished and looks fabulous!
I was told that a local school did all the new art work. I was happy to know that kids in at least one of our schools are being taught the importance of voting. Here is one photo--
I still haven't received my new registration card, indicating the new districts. I did, however, receive my absentee ballot, so I guess I just have to wait for the card.
ReplyDeleteYou won't need your card...just your driver's license. Just make sure you go to the right polling place as some have changed.
