Coronavirus: Palm Beach County picked as COVID-19 vaccine trial site

Palm Beach County will be the site of a clinical trial for a COVID-19 vaccine in early August, involving about 1,500 volunteers. JEM Research Institute, near the campus of JFK Medical Center in Atlantis

Dr. Larry Bush said half of the participants will be given the vaccine, while the other half will get a placebo. Doctors will then wait to see who gets sick, what is the immune response of those getting well and what are the side-effects. Palm Beach county was selected because of Dr. Bush's national reputation.
