Lake Worth Beach city officials say they're still working on plans for new public pool
The city has a hell of a nerve if you think about it. They closed this pool years ago, drained the water out of it and allowed the elements to rapidly deteriorate the structure causing out of control damage. That was irresponsible.City Manager Bornstein, who runs the show and all the decisions that affect the lives of Lake Worth residents says, "The city hired a consultant, CPZ Architects, to create renderings of a future facility. Depending on when and if one of the plans is selected, the price-tag ranges between $10 and $60-million." And there are some on the dais that don't want a pool built at all.
The commission meeting addressing this very important subject as well as your money (even if it is sales tax money) will be on the Agenda on August 19. This decision should not be up to three commissioners under the thumb of the city manager.

the CM will do what he wants to do. that's it.
ReplyDeleteThe manager sounded like a real looser today on the news. So many people had such high hopes that he would make Lake Worth better, but in his tenure, it seems like it has gone to hell. So much crime, lawlessness, blight, and businesses are leaving. All renters, no one cares here. Too bad about the pool. Lake Worth could be the Naples on the East Coast of Florida with the right leadership and vision. It is all a very sad story. Leaders need to listen to the people better.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you want him to do with town; Sprinkle fairy dust on it? "You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear!"
