Questioning the decision for South Palm Beach to go with PBSO.
1,309 people live in South Palm Beach. They have 8 police officers on payroll and the council's argument is "they will save money" of approximately one million over 5 years.
They have little crime
Horrible decision. The police do nothing there, no stress, but they want more money and pushed for this along with the one comm weissman. A bad move. Hope all the elected lose their positions now, won't vote for them. The PBSO did an injustice for LW and now this town will have not police presence. It was the wrong move, all based on scare tactics, a few touting a little saving, and better policing and pay for the cops, now this town will go to hell too just like Lake Worth did. Town's are always better with their own police dept. More in touch and can handle all better. Sad sorry move and not good for the town at all.
ReplyDelete@4:00...I have to agree with you. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteI have to concede that while I like PBSO, I did feel more connected to the Police before the Sheriff's office took over.
ReplyDeleteI particularly dislike the fact that the G Street station is closed on weekends and evenings. Why not get rid of it, If it isn't open when most crimes happen. It's not the Post Office.
