Asbestos pipes in some Lake Worth hydrants

Hydrants in a Lake Worth community are attached to asbestos pipes

Ben Kerr, public information officer, said the average cost for a hydrant replacement is between $4,000 to $6,000. The city has an annual budget of $50,000 per year for hydrants that are hit, damaged or need to be replaced."
