Commissioner Omari Hardy says Lake Worth is handcuffed
This morning, Lake Worth was on the news for its gun ban resolution. Commissioners Hardy and Robinson were featured.
As you recall, they both promoted their morality on the entire City of Lake Worth with Hardy stating his view is what the majority believes. How presumptuous can you get? He says he respects the law but in the same breath says "I hate it," and it "sucks." He wants to close down the gun show at the Scottish Rite, a monthly business in Lake Worth. He even entertained the idea of suing the State of Florida because he is against the State "hollowing out Home Rule," an act he feels is unconstitutional. The city attorney will look into it. Hardy has no problem incurring legal fees here.
I remember when the City of Lake Worth said that the State had precedent on a law it enacted three months after our Heights Amendment passed with 58% at the polls and therefore our vote was moot. They told us, too bad, so sad. But like a lot of puffed up elected officials, laws are only good when they agree with their political agenda. View the video below.
Channel 12 report and video
don't ban my guns and make us a sanctuary city at the same time.i have heard from the dias at times to use common sense then use it
ReplyDeleteOmari Hardy is a publicity hound using our Commission to get videos of himself that he can use when he runs for higher office. And as an elected official ,he should watch his rude language. It reflects badly on Lake Worth."Home rule" would lead to chaos. Why stop at gun laws, which would be confusing enough if Miami had one set of rules and West Palm another. Why not make abortion illegal in some towns. How about a local town making a rule that blacks can't be on the streets after ten at night? Or maybe a town saying that only women can vote in it's elections?Mr Hardi and the rest of our Commissioners need to stop running this town by consent agenda and earn the very generous pay that we are giving them.I dare somebody to stand up at the next Commission meeting and ask Mayor Pam Triolo to give back three months of her 500/month car allowance for CHOOSING,yes CHOOSING to miss a meeting.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't speak for me
ReplyDeleteno one on that dias speaks for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCities are under state regulation.
ReplyDeleteOmari Hardy may want to be more than a city commissioner but at this point, thank God, he is handcuffed by the state.
He pushed to give away $25 K of our money-not out of his ridiculously generous car allowance- and wants to be a tyrant.
Will the Mayor curtail his obnoxious rants?
I understood the $25K was never sent to where he said.true or false
ReplyDelete@6:17--although the entire commission voted to send the $25k to Puerto Rico, I asked that question 2 months ago at the lectern. I was told that it was not sent by Andy Amoroso.
ReplyDeleteSounds like omari is just like Clemens, he is just using this seat as a stepping stone for something bigger in the future. I would never vote for him. He is getting as vile as Clemens was, and it all caught up to him. It is too bad we can never get altruistic people who sincerely just want the best for their community without ego, greed, and the power grab that all in LW have now. None of them really care about you or I, let's face it. jeff never did either, oari is just like him or worse.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor won't curtail Omari, its just what she wants.
ReplyDeleteOmari doesn't have a legitimate LW address, nor a legitimate first name. I wonder where the food lady actually lives.
ReplyDeleteYou’re saying his name is false?? Why would you say that?
ReplyDeleteNot my commissioner, doesn’t represent me, not legitimate. Sound familiar? Can you say, Witch Hunt!
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with a “witch hunt.”
ReplyDeleteEveryone on this thread read my mind. There are 2 things that REALLY pushed me over the edge with Hardy (aside from his attitude) and it was the PR money, and the that interview he gave about how "shocking" LW was after living in Miami and Ft Laud. I have lived all over the country and the world. There is nothing shocking about LW- esp compared to those 2 cities. However, if he was so blown away by LW then he needs to get out more and expand his life experiences. As far as PR... I was just speechless. He went off about statements the President made and how somehow that meant that LW needed to give PR money??? What?! I will stop my rant now but please please please someone run against him and get him out. He isn't trying to live in LW long term anyway so let's just send him on his way already.
ReplyDeletedon't you think the mayor was instrumental in getting omri elected backtrack a little.fake first name is probably why he cant be found.this city doesn't maintain anything and they don't check anything out.now you have all the people that have moved here in the last 5 years thinking they know all and think its fun to listen to the bow tie as some higher power.he hasn't even been here long enough to know any facts.remember who brought him into the money pit
ReplyDeleteAccording to searches on omari, that is not his real name, it is Jamal Hatchett and he lives in Ft. Lauderdale, it says he lived in LW before, go to and it tells all about him:
ReplyDeleteOmari Hardy (Jamal-Hatchett), 28 - Fort Lauderdale, FL ...
https://www.mylife.com/omari-hardy/omarihardy
Omari Hardy is 28 years old and was born on 11/28/1989. Currently, he lives in Fort Lauderdale, FL; and previously lived in margate, FL and lake worth, FL. Sometimes Omari goes by various nicknames including Omari J Hardy. Other family members and associates include Kiara Hardy and Padrica Hardy.
All sounding very fishy!
