The King of Lake Avenue has been Dethroned

Andy Amoroso has been the face of the downtown but someone crossed the king and he can't do a thing about it.

Commissioner Andy Amoroso is moving from his location on Lake Avenue after 24 years and not because he wants to. The rent, according to him, was raised by 60%. The landlord insists it is fair. He wanted to get released from his lease with the landlord.

Read about why they said "no."

  1. Before he was a commissioner he formed an unsuccessful group to compete with the chamber of commerce. Now he needs something like the chamber to help him--what a shame.

  2. A store selling gummy cocks and gay smut magazines in a back room was "an anchor of our downtown"??? Lake Worth is in deeper trouble than we thought.
Andy finally pissed off the wrong people. He's been a bully for so long that he forgot about consequences. Whatever moves in will be a breath of fresh air for our downtown merchants.Maybe in his new shop Andy can make tiny replicas of himself to put out in the garden.

  4. I'm more concerned with the fact that these Peter's people seem to own all the Real Estate in Lake Worth. They just rented the place next to Andy to another Vape place, which will last about 2 months maximum. They are a wholesale slumlord. Just what we need.

  6. andy tries to sell Dollar Tree items for $6-10, things for a dollar, he is a scam. At least he can now live on the $40K salary and benefits he gets for two meetings a month. It seems almost NO ONE has respect for him anymore. Sad that someone could reach this low, but his attitude brought it upon himself. He needs our prayers.

  7. It's too bad about Andy's store. It has been there forever and a staple in our downtown. I will miss not seeing it. I haven't been in there for years ever since he publicly admonished me for something I wrote. Although I strongly disagree with him on a few very important decisions, I do, however, believe he's done a good job for Lake Worth overall.

  9. Believe me he does not care about anyone else but himself. He will screw you out of anything, he is very very shrewd. He brings a lot upon himself, it is all about him, his ego, and his pocket book. The truth is finally all being exposed.

  10. Thank God he's done.

He ruined evening on the avenue by having it every week instead of after the Commission meeting weeks (2x month).
    It's dead now.

His display of ratty clothes made Lake look like a garbage can.

Sees things his own way only.

  11. The juice bar on "L" street should be raided by the health department, I took one glance inside and never went back.
I don't know if it's still operating but when I went some time ago the employees were rude.

  12. I agree, the employees in the juice bar are not nice, nasty and rude. The only nice one is Jason. I wonder if he has figured out how bad andy is as a person? The county likely doesn't even know he sells food or he might not have a food vendors license, who knows. Lost all respect for that dude! he is greedy and corrupt, and a know it all, like only he knows anything. Yuck!

  13. Unlike most politicians, Andy won't tell you what you want to hear and that rubs people the wrong way. Sort of like Trump.

I see a lot of hatred on here for Andy. I VERY often hear what you all hear and don't necessarily like it but appreciate he tells you what HE will or won't do or what HE does or doesn't support. THAT is true leadership.

I think he will do just fine in his new location and will definitely be a draw to that area.

  14. Leading is not about what he wants to do or what he will or won't do or support but what the people would like him to do. At least listen. It's all about the people or should be.

  15. If leading is about what the people want, we wouldn't need leaders. Leading is about bringing together a diverse group of people for the good of the whole.

The people don't know what they want, and no two people want the same thing. That is called anarchy.

  16. I agree with you Lynn! He doesn't listen and plus acts like only he knows what is right or his way is the best way. he is like most politicians today, self serving and not listening to his constituents. Lake Worth and its people deserve better then andy, he is not a leader at all. Likely controlled by big business like pam. LW deserves better and Drew is likely a better move for the city. Wish someone had run against andy to get his butt out of office too. The city and people deserve better than these bums who want to live off the people like leeches.

  17. As a commissioner, a leader should be listening to all constituents...be moral and ethical in every decision. It's not what you want; it's what's best for the people you serve or the city. That was Cara Jennings philosophy and she was right.

  18. Talk about anarchists! Cara Jennings was the Queen.
