  1. Should be interesting to see just what this commission does. I always expect the worst and hope for the best.

  4. Overwhelming OPINION in this town is to fix our pool!

  5. And Stop the idea of a garage and save the billion dollar view!

  6. It is not the overwhelming opinion, the numbers of the usage of our outdated pool is proof of that. People say just fix it...I would say you pay for it Lynn but I know you could never afford that! Time for a change, hardly anyone uses the pool. It is an old building that was not included in the demo/rebuild of the rest of the casino building that was done by the worst commission ever.

  7. Actually, instead of me paying for it, what about a vote of the people? Let's see if they want to pay $7 mil or so or fix it for a few hundred thousand. But I keep forgetting, our vote doesn't count sometimes in this city.

  8. The usage is low because the open hours and days are low.

The extra cash that now does not have go to road repair can easily finance the pool repair and renovation and restoration of the baths.

  9. Do you know the amount of urine in that pool. The reason your eyes get red is from urine, not clorine. Gross!

  10. Put a bar and vapes at the pool and watch it make money from our brain dead population.

  11. funny how some of these people want to tear out the pool instead of repair.then they want someone to repair the hotel that should come down.looks like a lot of people like to just stir the pot for trouble

  12. It's called opinion.
The hotel is private property. We can only hope that they will have a hotel on that property but I don't count on anything.

  13. The pool should go, sorry guys, but even if it was open who is going to the pool when you have the ocean right there 20 feet away? Second even if the Hotel was not privately owned it is on the National Historic Registry, it would take an act of God to tear it down.

  14. wrong @10:23...
It is on private property. He can demolish it.
Next, a lot of people like swimming in a fresh water pool.

  15. the hell with national historic registry that don't help the tax base

  16. Either way--it won't help our tax base that much. It's in the CRA district.

  17. Demo the Gulfstream and build a nice condo that will attract people who will not tolerate backward thinking people who support cop hating candidates. Continue the gentrification of our fine city, there is room for all.

  18. Yes, many of us who did support Ryan Hartman (actually it was a vote against Maxwell) did not know he was a cop hating anarchist. Our regret. However, he didn't win, did he?
Next, please do not think you are so superior. We have a different idea for our city and it is not to build to the sky but to keep our small town charm. It's not to give our precious assets away to developers. It's not to cement over our beach park with a parking garage or fill in our pool.
Tell all your elitist friends who are "forward thinking people" to get rid of the ailments in our city: slum, blight and crime. Don't worry so much about the stupid decayed Gulfstream Hotel that will see the wrecking ball down the road.
