Dennis Dorsey with his grandson Sean
Sean is the grandson of Dennis and Doris Dorsey who stood by him every inch of the way with a lot of love. There were many prayers going on every day over the last few years and Sean believes that the power of prayer is what pulled him through. He is now on his road to recovery, will be going back to the University of Florida and plans on writing a book about his experience.
Read about Sean, this brave young man, in the Palm Beach Daily News (Shiny Sheet).
Hi there, I'm a new reader here and can someone tell me just who are Dennis & Doris Dorsey? Do they live in LW? And why is this piece any more than a positive update for some kid going to UF?

ReplyDeleteThis is about a young man whose horrible ordeal was just printed in the Palm Beach Daily News. That paper thought it very worthy. He is the grandson of a former commissioner and mayor of our city...a grandfather who helped raise nearly $1 million dollars in scholarships for kids to go to college with the Lake Worth Alumni Dollars for Scholars.
Business owner Jon Jordan is endorsing the incumbents and having a shindig at his Propaganda bar. He doesn't live here either. Is that more worthy of mention to you?"
Dennis Dorsey was probably the best mayor Lake Worth has had in the last half century. He was not corrupt, which is really an exception to the rule around here, in particular when talking about Republicans. He really loved the city and knew that his job was to represent the people. He stood up to an arrogant and out of control police chief which few mayors and city managers will ever do, and he didn't let himself or the city or its people be bullied by any stupid developer or ambulance-chasing lawyer or anyone else. He was really for Lake Worth.
ReplyDeleteSean is an amazing young man.It is a miracle that he is still alive, much less going back to college.I can't imagine what he and his family have had to endure.Sean has an amazing future ahead of him ,and he does so with countless blessings sent his way. Not enough can be said about Dennis and Doris Dorsey and their amazing contributions to Lake Worth.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, this is from none other than the “infamous” Sean Dorsey himself and I just wanted to say first of all I just randomly happened to run across this blog post from ~3 years ago and say wow, thank you for the kind words that really means a lot to me you have no idea; and second of all that I am sure that my grandfather would love to hear all those great things spoken about him! You guys are amazing!
