Essentially I have left commissioner Andy Amoroso alone when it comes to pointing out his bad decisions for Lake Worth. I have just included him as part of the Trio overall as he has voted in partnership with Scott Maxwell and Pam Triolo on each and every occasion that I can recall. The difference between him and them is that he wasn't a bully on the dais although he did rush through discussion at times when he said "call the vote." There were many times that he had no patience in listening to the other side of the argument.
However, when a candidate decides to be a "hitman" and produces a campaign hit piece, even if it only consisted of one sentence that was a deliberate falsehood to deceive and a hitpiece that is given to the voters in our city, then I have to call it out. His flyer could not have been just a mistake. It was a fabrication of major proportions and an attack on his opponent, Frank McAlonan, that was sheer fantasy.
There were several embellished achievements but one major prevarication (LIE) on his flyer: The safety of our residents should also be a top priority. [We all agree with that] I supported keeping the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Palm Beach County Fire rescue. My opponent in this race opposed all of these initiatives.

Frank McAlonan did not live here when any talk of "keeping the PBSO" ever came before the commission. I don't recall any discussion or even a serious suggestion regarding the termination with the PBSO. It didn't happen. At the Bryant Park NA Forum, Candidate Frank McAlonan rated the PBSO on a scale of 1 to 10 as a 9.5. And to make the lie on Amoroso' campaign flyer even more loathsome, Frank's brother is a fireman.

There is never a reason to lie to the voters unless you want to fool them and can't win on your own merits or win on the truth. Does anyone admire someone winning an election by cunning deception?
Perhaps it is the low-information voter he is trying to attract. According to Mark Perkel, "people want to hear what they want to hear. When two
candidates are running and one of them tells the truth and the other says
what the public wants to hear, the one who says what the public wants to
hear wins the election. Thus, and there are exceptions to this, if you
want to win an election, you better start lying, because the guy who's
telling you the truth doesn't have a chance."
We have seen the lies and the dirty tricks in this city on way too many occasions and frankly, we are all sick of it. If you have to lie to win, then give it up. And Frank is right--Andy Amoroso should apologize.
Of course he's a liar-he's been in office almost 5 years.

ReplyDeleteAs Paul Harvey says here is the rest of the story. Frank McAlonon lied at the NAPC debate and continues to to this day on his flyer. He states his opponent VOTED to put a convention center on the beach. It never came before the commission ever. More fear tactics. Frank needs to get over his self importance. Love the pic of Andy. He looks hot!
ReplyDeleteJust listen to the ITN, anonymous at 9:42.
ReplyDelete"Hot" is not what we need and besides, it's all in the eyes of the beholder, right?
Ya know that Frank lies on his printed pamphlets and when he publically speaks when he touts that Amoroso allegedly 'voted' to sell the beach. THAT NEVER HAPPENED! And Frank was asked at the last debate to prove differently. And he can't because IT NEVER HAPPENED. By any commissioner, the fact is there was no vote.
ReplyDeletePeople get confused with the ITN process which was merely an exercise to invite all ideas from the universe as to what creative minds can conjure up to do with our municipality forever owned beach, casino, pool, pier, park, and parking area. And on that note, Amoroso offered the motion to end and in fact voted to end the ITN process.
So when can we expect a similar photo shopped pic of Frank with six shooters?
Amoroso looks like the no nonsense on crime sheriff in town, I love this photo. Are you starting a campaign for shop owners to arm themselves?
ReplyDeleteMost of the times your blog is good for a laugh. You and all your cronies spend every election cycle, every vote spreading pathetic lies in the community. You call people corrupt lie about secret meetings, elected officials receiving bribes, you lie about everything. Even now you keep lying about the heights vote when you know the commission had nothing to do with denying your vote which was based on lies anyway. So for you to complain about anyone lying indicates a detachment from reality on your part and it's good for another laugh.
ReplyDeleteThe ITN committee's job, Lynn, was to receive any and ALL ideas for fixing our casino building problems. The purpose was to see if any were worthy of being sent to the commission. The ITN committee never recommended HH go before the commission let alone do ANY development at the Beach complex. The only recommendation the committee made was to have traffic studies updated before we could consider moving forward with any proposal to put a restaurant up there due to parking and traffic issues. It was your fear mongering that made this about the beach when it never was. Andy was doing his job to ferret out all proposals....it doesn't mean he was in favor of any of them.
ReplyDeleteAmoroso is the NUMBER ONE guy responsible for the move to GIVE our beach away to Hudson Holdings. By PRE-ARRANGEMENT, Out of the Sunshine, Amoroso was designated to be the commission person on the ITN committee to lead the charge to GIVE our beach away to Hudson Holdings. He pushed for HH to be given Right of First Refusal to be able to have their 20 year lease on the casino -- including the convention center that HH will build -- extended ad infinitum. FOREVER!! The beach will be gone if Andy Amoroso is re-elected. GONE. We will never get it back.
ReplyDeleteThe ITN Audio was a 'hot mess'!
ReplyDeleteEven Wm Waters knew if it was released to the public before the election Szerdi would not get re-elected! Andy's comment about 'do you want a hairdresser' and how to get the lease on the beach to go on forever...well those with ears to hear will listen and the deaf will stick to their story and lame talking points! Sad he has to reuse old talking points and LIE to try and win!
10:30 you are one big laughable joke.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @9:54--please look up the word LIE in the dictionary.
ReplyDeleteYes, the ITN was an exercise, trumped up as it was, and Hudson Holdings wanted to grab hold of our beach long before this process even took place. They probably still do.
@10:15...I agree, Andy Amoroso needs to reduce crime in our city.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comment:
ReplyDelete"People get confused with the ITN process which was merely an exercise to invite all ideas from the universe"
You really need to get a grip and remove those smoke filled glasses. William Waters had plans for a private beach club and convention center quite some time before the ITN. The ITN was merely a trumped up smokescreen to hide this fact from the public and hope they could ram it through in secret in the summer. It's right on tape holding off allowing the voters any knowledge of this until "after the election."
This was cooked up solely for the convenience of Hudson Holdings.
Both sides lie. Get over yourselves.
ReplyDeleteAndy A for the most part does not want to listen to the citizens,he treats his constituents like crap, he price gouges in his store, and seems very dishonest as a store owner in a lot that he does. His dealings with a lot are very questionable, Andy, the truth will come out about you! Only you know what dishonesty you are doing, but many can suspect and notice a lot of your dealings, Lynn you are dead on with this story. Hopefully many will start noticing the truth about Andy A!
ReplyDeleteAnd he makes Lake Avenue, our premier commercial street and a gateway to the city and beach look like a flea market every day by putting out all kinds of junk on the sidewalk, much to the chagrin of many shop owners on the street. This code violation is ignored because he is a Commissioner.
ReplyDeleteFire him on March 15th!
How about Susan Mullival illegally voting when she lived in Delray? How many shills did you have in that election! Wish I had a picture of her saying she was a goat farmer. She lied, she had a Delray address on her driver licence. Felt bad for the pollworker questioning her.
ReplyDeleteSaw her myself. Baptist Church om South M
DeleteThe personal taxes are rude and crude. If you don't like something and he is selling his store it's easy don't buy it. He is a merchant, lurch and sell stuff to make money. He works and he has a vested interest to have a safe environment in his home life and his business life which happens to be all in Lake Worth. And has been, forever. If you think he's in violation of some code, call cide enforcement. But don't continue with personal attacks. He works hard every day and supports PBSO 100% to draw attention to the problems of the city. He is likely to be the most active in this areas in particular of all the commissioners due to his proximity to the downtown area and his availability to all citizens on nearly a daily basis.
