Mayor Pam Triolo forgot her Big Girl Panties

Comment Up

We know what's respectful, Mayor, and last night you were anything but. True, everyone on the dais has the right to express his opinion, even Commissioner McVoy. Every citizen has that right as well. It would behoove you to sit there "respectfully" and listen to the other commissioners and the people you serve instead of losing it, yelling at an elected official, calling a resident a liar and storming out of the meeting. All good leaders need to regulate and control their own emotions.

  1. I was in the hallway. It was shocking. I had to ask someone if that was the mayor?

  2. How embarrassing. I can just imagine what the men in the room were thinking. When a woman, in a position of leadership and power, cannot manage her emotions, her credibility drops exponentially. Like it or not, that's a fact.

  3. The citizens elected her, is it possible for citizens to stand up to this and ask her to resign, I would think enough signatures would send a this lady a message.

  4. It was distressing to see the impolite statements, but the Mayor had to know that feelings and emotions run high when it comes to the beach. She should have prepared herself. To walk out in the middle of the meeting really shows that she can't take criticism and she can't take being Mayor.

  5. very embarrassing and shameful. Can we complain to anybody at the state level about her behavior?

  6. Szerdi sitting there shoulder to shoulder with Hudson Holdings last night gave a whole new meaning to the concept of CORRUPTION !!! And all the people standing in the back like Piggy Fishbottom was should have been told to get the hell out of the room.

  7. It's so easy to sit in judgment. I think the Mayor did a great job. I am on the fence with this one but those of you on either side think you know what all of us want. Fact is you all looked like fools. I sat their embarrassed thinking why would these people get up and say all this crap when all we were there to do was hear the proposals. So you can say the mayor was crazy but take a good look at the rest of you and that means both sides. You guys are all nuts.

  8. Freedom of speech is one of the things that make this country great. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, however I expect an elected official to act with decorum and self restraint, even in the face of "common grass roots" type people.

  10. 7:24-If you think that the behavior exhibited by the Mayor last night was her doing "a great job", I have to ask what in the heck is your definition of a bad job?

  11. The Mayor's erratic behavior really worries me. What if we get hit by a major hurricane with the two week power outages that we saw in 2005? I want someone who can handle themselves in a crisis, not some hysterical nicotine junkie.

  13. Unfortunately, it's not every now and then. But this time, she went over the top. This is someone who represents all of the people whether I voted for her or not...doesn't matter. She should sit there and respect everyone...not be a dictator...not get so mad that she allows insults and is now more insulting than Maxwell. She has come a long way.
