Satan is a cool dude, says Chaz Stevens

Chaz Stevens wrote a letter to the city commission of Deerfield Beach:
Dear City of Deerfield Beach;

With the recent US Supreme Court ruling allowing “prayer before Commission meetings” and seeking the rights granted to others, I hereby am requesting I be allowed to open a Commission meeting praying for my God, my divine spirit, my Dude in Charge.

Be advised, I am a Satanist.

Let me know when this is good for you.
Stevens has vowed to fight them in court if they did not end prayer. Now the City of Deerfield Beach is ending invocations before the commission meetings. What is the world coming to? Ruled by minorities, it is getting asinine.

Obama undermining Freedom of Religion

Catholic Online said: “Let’s be clear … language matters when it comes to defining freedoms and limits. A shift from freedom of religion to freedom of worship moves the dialog from the world stage into the physical confines of a church, temple, synagogue or mosque. … It … could exclude our right to raise our children in our faith, the right to religious education, literature or media, the right to raise funds or organize charitable activities and the right to express religious beliefs in the normal discourse of life.”

From the Vatican--

The Vatican, the report said, described it this way: “Religious freedom, in turn, which men demand as necessary to fulfill their duty to worship God, has to do with immunity from coercion in civil society.”

The Alliance Defending Freedom has cited the Obama administration’s use, since Cairo, of “freedom of worship” to undermine “freedom of religion,” as one of the “direct attacks on religious freedom” by Obama.

Oops, Wrong House

Comment Up

This morning, I watched the Community Safety Roundtable symposium for a couple of hours held at the Palm Beach County Commission chambers to talk about police tactics and where citizens could express their concerns.  This was organized by mayor Priscilla Taylor because of the recent incidents in Ferguson and Baltimore. Police chiefs from several communities were there.  Rick Bradshaw had another commitment.

The purposes was to open a dialogue with the public as well as the police in order to discuss, bad officers, over zealous policing as well as the dangers police officers face every day and try to come to some sort of understanding between the police and the people they serve.

Then this afternoon, 20 SWAT officers conducted a drug raid on a house in Palm Springs and did $10,000 worth of damage tearing up the place while serving a warrant. Only problem, it was the wrong house. PBSO even ripped out her security cameras. The owner says she doesn't have the money to make repairs and the PBSO says she needs to front the money before she gets reimbursed.

This is exactly what the public is talking about when they cite problems with the police.

Another US trained ISIS madman

While Obama sits around twiddling his thumbs, not listening to his generals or the Pentagon and thinking air strikes alone will end the atrocities and push back those be-heading innocent people and terrorists hell-bent on coming to our country to do the same, another crazy evil person has joined ISIS.

"Listen, you dogs, the president and ministers, if only you knew how many boys, our brothers are here, waiting and yearning to return to Tajikistan to re-establish sharia law there,” he said, addressing Tajik President Imomali Rakhmon. “We are coming to you, God willing, we are coming to you with slaughter,” said Khalimov, a 40-year-old native of the Tajik capital Dushanbe.

Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov spoke in Russian, sitting in front of a palm tree, and sported a new beard. It was not clear which country he was in. Khalimov said he had been trained by elite Russian “spetsnaz” forces in Moscow and U.S. special forces in America. “Listen, you American pigs, I’ve been three times to America, and I saw how you train fighters to kill Muslims,” he said, patting his rifle. “God willing, I will come with this weapon to your cities, your homes, and we will kill you.” Read more... at The Jerusalem Post.

Adios, America

A few facts from Ann Coulter's new book, “Adios, America! The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole

Following are excerpts from her book on Mexico:
  • America has already taken in one-fourth of Mexico’s entire population. I give that sentence number 1 status as it is shocking!
  • There are more foreign inmates in New York state prisons from Mexico than from the entire continent of Europe.
  • In some areas of America, law enforcement authorities have given up on prosecuting statutory rape cases against Mexican men in their 30s who impregnate 12- and 13-year-old girls, after repeatedly encountering parents who view their little girls’ pregnancies as a “blessing.”
  • Since 2004, Mexicans have beheaded at least a half-dozen people in the United States.
  • Mexican drug cartels — not ISIS — pioneered the practice of posting videotaped beheadings online.
  • An alleged “ISIS” beheading video making the rounds in 2014 was actually a Mexican beheading video from 2010

Keep Lake Worth’s public spaces green

Hudson Holdings is like Greater Bay, a company that also tried, through “local government,” to take Lake Worth’s public beach property but failed — due to the citizens of the city standing up and saying “no.”

When will shortsighted politicians realize that government is not a business enterprise? And that public green space is a source of wealth for the city and should not be sold for the profit of a few?

Lake Worth has what many other cities in South Florida had: open green space on the Intracoastal Waterway and a beautiful beach for all to enjoy. We should be expanding green space, not selling it off.

So once again, people of Lake Worth, let’s send the message to our politicians: “Hands off our beach” and “no” to private development of our public spaces.

JAMES THOMSON
LAKE WORTH

Note:  When Mr. Thompson refers to "selling" he is actually referring to handing over control of our casino/complex property up to a possible 99 years on a lease with options.  That is the same thing as "selling." Also, the only reasons that Greater Bay failed to gain control of our beach besides public protest, was the McCauley/McNamara lawsuit and a change in the commission. It is disgusting that the people of this city have to watch its government this closely in order to save our assets.

President Obama just keeps on losing--

A federal judge rejected the Obama administration’s latest effort to delay release of some of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s emails, issuing an order Wednesday demanding that the State Department start rolling out the emails on a firm schedule every month.

Judge Rudolph Contreras gave the department until the end of January to complete the production of all 30,000 emails, which means the final messages will be released about the same time Mrs. Clinton, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, prepares to face voters.

Dave Kerner files for Palm Beach County Commission District 3

Comment Up

Dave Kerner is a former Lake Worth police officer and special prosecutor and now represents District 87 as a state representative. He has decided to concentrate on Palm Beach County and is now running for Shelley Vana's seat that is term limited.

Dave says, "Through bipartisanship and consensus building, I have worked to help Florida attract new companies to our state and the Palm Beach County region. I understand that creating jobs for Florida’s families, we need to keep taxes low for small businesses and ensure Florida has top notch schools and healthcare."

Who would believe that crime is down in Lake Worth?

The answer to the title of this blog is--a politician.

In Lake Worth, we had 120 less crimes in 2014 than we did in 2013 according to PBSO. Big whoopie because no one is feeling any significant difference. That's because there isn't any.  Every year we get this same report that crime is down.

And now politicians are drooling at the lip and delighted as all get-out!  Great PR. The mayor is quoted as saying: The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office recently assigned additional officers to an operation to combat crime. Those extra officers have been working the late shift, normally from 10 p.m. to about 6 a.m., when many crimes occur. “That extra push is going to help us quite a bit,” Triolo said. “They’re focusing on those late-night burglaries.” At a neighborhood meeting, a deputy told us that the vast majority of burglaries take place during the day.

The Vice Mayor, Scott Maxwell, who ran on eliminating slum and blight, was even more profound when he said,  “Unfortunately we have some undesirable elements in our city and some blighted neighborhoods. Even though crime is down overall, and that’s a great trend, that’s still not good enough. We have to stay more diligent and keep after it.”

Jail was overreach for mom saving son

I’m extremely disturbed that a mother was thrown in jail in Palm Beach County and kept there for a week for refusing to allow her 4-year-old son to be circumcised.
There is no legitimate health reason for a boy to be circumcised.

Of course, there are plenty of doctors who will say there are health reasons to justify circumcision. But doctors also used to recommend lobotomies. (In fact, the inventor of the lobotomy won a Nobel Prize in 1949.)
The rights of the mother to protect her child cannot be trampled by any court or by any judge. Heather Hironimus acted to protect the life and safety of her child. The judge should have respected her right to protect her child from harm.

As for Judge Jeffrey Gillen, who ordered the arrest of Hironimus … When is he up for re-election?

MARGARET MENGE
LAKE WORTH

PBPost Editor’s note: After spending nine nights in jail, Hironimus was released on Saturday after she signed a consent form to allow the circumcision. Gillen was elected without opposition in 2014 after having been appointed to the court by Gov. Rick Scott in 2012 to fill a vacancy. Circuit judges serve six-year terms.

Editor's Note: Circumcision is an elective option that parents make for their sons. In this case there was a difference of opinion and the father wants it done for religious reasons. Ultimately, it should be done at infancy--
The best time for infant circumcision is when your baby is between 24 and 72 hours old - Just the Facts Baby. This child is four years old. Doesn't the mother have rights too? Doesn't the child? Why would the mother be jailed after trying to protect her son? She was forced by the Court to sign a consent form to allow her son to have this procedure...she faced 5 years in prison! Really outrageous.

Texas wins; Obama loses

The Washington Times – Updated: 2:39 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 A federal appeals court upheld an injunction against President Obama’s new deportation in a ruling Tuesday that marks the second major legal setback for an administration that had insisted its actions were legal.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled in favor of Texas, which had sued to stop the amnesty, on all key points, finding that Mr. Obama’s amnesty likely broke the law governing how big policies are to be written.“The public interest favors maintenance of the injunction,” the judges wrote in the majority opinion.

Are Democrats just simply naive?

Comment Up

Nearly every day I wonder why I am still a member of the Democratic Party.  It simply amazes me as liberals have ruined our country--there is no way under God's green Earth that we can sustain ourselves. We are on our way to not only socialism and doling out money to every one who asks, but non-secularism. We are becoming passive when confronted by our enemies and even supposedly with the best military on Earth, we are not trying to defeat them. And whether Democrats want to admit it or not, Republican states are out-performing liberal states.

The headline in today's Palm Beach Post reads: Parties seem to diverge on Muslims. Apparently there was a fundraising dinner organized by the Palm Beach County Democratic Party and the American Muslim Alliance where both groups were kissy face. Top Democrats in the county attended the dinner.

Finally after 1.5 hours, Ken Sommers, Democratic activist, actually had the courage not to be politically correct and asked about the Muslim violence in other parts of the world as well as the be-headings and other atrocities. Inman Abdul Hakin stated that there is "no justification for violence" and all the Democrats knowingly smiled and  readily accepted the Inman's statement that explained nothing. If he said it, it must be fact. Obviously, these tens of thousands of Muslim terrorists are an anomaly, Democrats believe.

According to Breitbart, the Iranian elite paramilitary force leader Major General Qassem Soleimani accused the United States of having “no will” to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and blasted President Barack Obama as not having “done a damn thing” to quell the terrorist insurgency.

There may be no justification for violence as the Inman stated, but it is happening, justification or not. We see it on the news every day. Evil persists. If you read the Quran, it promotes death to non-believers of the Muslim faith. As sister Hatune Dogan said, “Twenty-five times in the Quran it says to kill Christians because we are involved in polytheism [which is untrue]. Also it says to not make friends with Christians. A mosque is not just for prayer, it is to prepare to kill the unbeliever and control the world.”

Muslims worldwide have been encouraged by the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) to embrace jihad, claiming Islamist fighters will one day conquer Rome, the capital of Christianity. I have no doubt that they will try and kill tens maybe hundreds of thousands of people on the way to fulfilling their mission.

The Republican Party is planning on an event to bring forth the realistic side of the Inman's "We are a non-violent people" argument while the Democratic Party keeps its politically naive head in the sand.

ObamaTrade passed by Senate Republicans

Comment Up

"Matt Drudge, conservative, unleashed on the Republican Party Friday after the GOP Congress gave Barack Obama sweeping new powers when the Republican Senate passed Obamatrade Friday without reading the bill".

Why this bill is a big deal. It would allow the power to submit trade deals to Congress for an up-or-down vote with limited debate and no amendments. Congress can't change it.

In a rather bizarre situation, the president’s ability to finalize a trade deal was  pushed through by Senate Republicans. Last night 48 Republicans joined with 14 Democrats to successfully approve the measure.  The vote was 62-38.

Memorial Day Services tomorrow

"After World War II—in which another 405,000 American lives were lost—Memorial Day also became a day to pray for peace, and since 1950 every president has included such a plea in his Memorial Day remarks. Since the year 2000, each president has also asked Americans to pause at 3 p.m. local time for a moment of silent reflection.

One hundred years after John Logan issued his order for the first national Decoration Day, in 1968, Congress finally declared Memorial Day a national holiday. In so doing, however, Congress moved the celebration from May 30 to the last Monday in May, as part of the Uniform Holiday Bill that created the three-day weekend, in part, "to stimulate greater industrial and commercial production."

As with the other holidays affected—Washington's Birthday, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day—the change has been met with some resistance, and many veterans' groups advocated for returning the day's observance to May 30." Source:  Alumniclass.com

Quote of the Day - Jeb Bush

Comment Up
"Fashionable ideas and opinions - which these days can be a religion all by itself - have got a problem with Christians and their right of conscience. ...That makes it our problem, and the proper response is a forthright defense of the first freedom in our Constitution.

The progressive political agenda is ready for its next great leap forward, and religious people or churches are getting in the way. Our friends on the left like to view themselves as the agents of change and reform, and you and I are supposed to just get with the program.."

Our Lake Worth Casino building

Comment Up

Our newly assigned Palm Beach Post reporter had an article published today on our Lake Worth Casino regarding last Tuesday night's commission meeting--Residents want Casino Plan. That was the title in the hard copy of today's paper.

Now, for the life of me, I can't figure out where that title came from.  Residents don't want a plan unless leaving our beach park alone and the city efficiently managing our asset is the plan. We just all approved of a plan several years ago and our casino complex and beach redevelopment is exactly what we said that we wanted in the charette.  No one is "weary" about what we want at our beach as we have what we want. We are weary that a football keeps being thrown at us to change the complex and even consider losing control of anything there. There are still people who want more commercial development at our beach. We really wanted more amenities than we got but had to scale down the "wants" from the "needs" because of money. Can you even imagine if we had spent more than we did?  Maxwell would be having a stroke.

Following are some of the important points that were NOT mentioned in the article:

1.     The $6 million was borrowed from ourselves out of reserves to build the casino. There are people out there who believe we are defaulting on a loan.  We are not.
2.    This commission has voted to delay principal payments because of other issues.
3.    We have paid back $250,000 in 2014 and 2015 and have paid all interest.
4.    The mayor is wrong about our pool.  It IS regulation for high school and college for 25 foot meets.
5.    The city has 100% failed to market our pool or to even let visitors know we have a pool.
6.    We just upgraded our entire beach park of 19 acres with the casino opening in 2012 for $13 million. Maxwell and the CM are not allowing the financial plan to work because the city has not rented the upstairs space and threw into expenses the pool operations that never were included in the financial plan.
7.    The city manager went out on an ITN on his own initiative. It was brought before the commission with no discussion or approval by the public. The CM appointed the Select Committee other than commissioner Amoroso. There was never any discussion on this and if there was, they would have known to keep their hands off our beach.

I could go on and on about this but these are some of the highlights that the article didn't address.

Common Ground Church issues Prayer Alert

Comment Up

Pastor Mike Olive: "Prayer Alert:

Please be praying for Common Ground Church. We will be going before the Lake Worth Magistrate this week. Pray that we will walk in humility, boldness and favor. Pray for our cities."

As everyone knows, the church was cited by Lake Worth for not having a business license to conduct church services at their coffee shop. A commissioner in the downtown supposedly turned them in and the city wanted them to fill out a form for an "accessory use." The city mentioned "safety concerns" and "non-compliance with ADA." Olive went ahead and paid the $160 for the Accessory Use request. He already had a use and occupancy permit at that location for the coffee shop.

Comment Up
Dozens of pigeons hanging out on Benny's roof.
Not one pelican was in sight.

Deputy sheriffs all over the upper beach checking out coolers for alcoholic beverages. This guy was ordered to turn around and put his cooler back in his vehicle. Upper photo, one deputy is describing a perp as young, good-looking...don't know what he did.  We were sitting next to two women who were obviously inebriated. The beach was packed and it was a perfect day with calm water. We were told that the heat factor was supposed to reach 100^ today!

Someone was having fun with a bird's eye view of all the happenings.

Trojan Pride Chorus - Broadway Live

Under the direction of teacher, John Weatherspoon, a twenty-five year instructor of choral conducting and teaching at Lake Worth High, the students gave a wonderful performance at their annual Spring Concert.

It started off with the singing of the National Anthem with those in the audience joining in. The chorus performed songs from Oliver, Phantom of the Opera, A Chorus Line and many more Broadway shows in a show that lasted over two hours.

Their biggest achievement for the year was getting the chance to sing at Carnegie Hall. Also, they won many awards at District and State competitions. It was a great night.

Rick Scott Wins Big

Comment Up
"Still think Rick Scott doesn't know what he's doing? Somewhere south of Winterfell, in Florida's ever-engrossing Game of Groans -- Scotties vs. Feds -- the Feds blinked first.

The Scott team won a big one this week. Does anybody really believe that without the Scotties' lawsuit bluster, without the governor's health-care-commission showmanship and his trip to Washington and his ideological kinship with the House speaker, the Feds would be proposing $1 billion for LIP next year?"

“The decision about whether or not to expand Medicaid is a state option … Regardless of whether a state expands Medicaid, uncompensated care pool funding should not pay for costs that would be covered in Medicaid expansion,” federal health officials said in a letter.

So Florida's argument with the Obama administration left his budget $1 billion short. Scott pressed, waited for the ideal time and through clever strategies, got the money. Now the State does not have to expand Medicaid.

Hurricane Seminar at Lake Worth Golf Course

Comment Up

Last night the 8th Hurricane Seminar on hurricane preparedness was held at the Lake Worth Golf Course.  Kevin Addison was host. It was very well attended in a perfect venue and I believe it to be the best one ever. The Beach Club encouraged people to stay to dine on their special of buy one, get one dinner free and many took them up on their offer. Drew Martin, elected in 2014 to be our representative of the Palm Beach Soil & Water Conservation District Seat 2 spoke to the crowd.

Vendors were well represented and all introduced themselves and their product/service.   PBSO deputy Mike Mahoney spoke and his lucky mom Janet won two door prizes!  Kevin and BarbaraJean worked diligently on door prizes and businesses graciously donated wonderful prizes--Ace Hardware, Elegant Lady, Lake Worth Jewelers, SouthShore Restaurant, Dave's Last Resort, Walgreens and EAS Shipping to name a few. Maurice Luz gave one from Milton's grooming parlor and one from his hair salon.  Home Depot donated a gas grill worth $100 and one of the vendors donated a gas generator.

The main feature was Mike Lyons Meteorologist at WPBF 25 who gave an interesting talk on hurricanes in general as well as those from the past that affected Florida and caused so much damage. He did say that our hurricane season this year is predicted to be minimal because of El Nino. An El NiƱo weather pattern usually causes frequent periods of high wind shear. Wind shear causes the vertical column of spinning air within a system to become tilted, inhibiting the development of storms. Lyons said only one major storm is predicted this hurricane season that begins on June 1 lasting six months. A major storm is a category 3 or higher. So, start preparing now--buy your batteries, can goods and water. After his presentation, he stayed to  help with awarding the door prizes.

In 2004, we got a double whammy two weeks apart when Frances and Jeanne hit the Palm Beach area.
Hurricane Jeanne blew down many of the ficus trees along Lake Osborne.
Tornados came through.
