This morning, I watched the Community Safety Roundtable symposium for a couple of hours held at the Palm Beach County Commission chambers to talk about police tactics and where citizens could express their concerns. This was organized by mayor Priscilla Taylor because of the recent incidents in Ferguson and Baltimore. Police chiefs from several communities were there. Rick Bradshaw had another commitment.
The purposes was to open a dialogue with the public as well as the police in order to discuss, bad officers, over zealous policing as well as the dangers police officers face every day and try to come to some sort of understanding between the police and the people they serve.
Then this afternoon, 20 SWAT officers conducted a drug raid on a house in Palm Springs and did $10,000 worth of damage tearing up the place while serving a warrant. Only problem, it was the wrong house. PBSO even ripped out her security cameras. The owner says she doesn't have the money to make repairs and the PBSO says she needs to front the money before she gets reimbursed.
This is exactly what the public is talking about when they cite problems with the police.
Ric Bradshaw knew better than to attend that political hot bed being stirred up by Taylor.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I not surprised?
ReplyDeleteThis IS how they roll,
incompetence on wheels w/a badge.
Yes they tend to act without thinking-at least that is my experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat I find funny is that if you're a white middle class person no one believes PBSO could possibly have treated you unjustly.
Just remember that old saying ,"when power corrupts, it corrupts absolutely."
"What I find funny is that if you're a white middle class person no one believes PBSO could possibly have treated you unjustly."
ReplyDeleteUhh ,HELLOOO??? I'm a white middle class person who does not feel that way. How damn racist are you, anon at 11:01? Maybe not racist, just condescendingly stupid. And unable to look at anything other than a person's skin color. Dr Martin Luther King is constantly spinning in his grave because of bone-headed comments like yours.
