Lake Worth's Policy Decision process changing hands

Comment Up
Has the city manager, once again,  made a policy decision? This commission continues to abrogate more of its power. No wonder they idolize Michael Bornstein. He and his staff make the decisions for them which frees up their time to fly to Seattle and Washington, D.C. and all points north.

It's been said that certain alleyways and/or streets will be permanently closed off freeing up space for downtown businesses to have more tables. I don't have a problem with this particularly, as some businesses have no room for outside cafes because of the ADA restrictions. The objection is the lack of process as it's supposed to come before the commission and the public. Not only does the commission give-away public rights-of-way to private property owners, i.e, 1501 North L Street, where Amoroso said it was a "win, win," but now our downtown alleyway access. Next it will be decal parking at the beach. I heard staff is working on that right now.

As the Mayor said last night, "In spite of our differences, we can do anything."

This one by CJ's was to be temporary for the Street Painting Festival.

  2. The Mayor's e-mail:

It was brought to my attention that you have quoted me twice on your blog incorrectly. What I said was..."Despite our differences, together we can do anything."

    Just wanted to clarify.

    Thank you,

    Mayor Pam Triolo

  3. OMG she didn't audit the meeting to LISTEN to EXACTLY what she said!

The City Swearing in Video @ 12:00
IS a PUBLIC recording of what she ACTUALLY DID Say! If it ain't the truth - is it a lie? Poker Tell?

    Dear Pam,

It was brought to my attention that you have MISS quoted YOURSELF. What YOU ACTUALLY said was...
"Despite ALL our differences, together we can do anything."

    Just wanted to clarify.

    Thank you,

  4. Anyone else notice how the CM cuts anyone off to speak and rarely asks
the Mayor Permission? He cut Maxwell off at the last meeting and Nadda from the Mayor! And he whines on and on and on more than anyone I've ever seen do on the dais. Watch the city meeting videos and see him and OUR LAWYER having a blast on the dais!
(Pick ANY video to watch and you'll see this 'behavior' is NORMAL for the boys!)

  5. Regardless of whether a word was not quoted, it does not take away from the intent of the mayor's statement.

  6. We are not a city that can afford to give away valuable city right of ways and property. If we want to reach agreements with business to profit off these leases that is one thing, but I doubt that is what is happening.
