Reporter "gotcha" moment took a "Grimm" turn

Comment Up

A reporter who did not follow the parameters previously set for the interview on Obama's SOTU speech, learned  not to mess around with a former FBI agent, businessman, an attorney, U.S. Marine, having served in the Persian Gulf War and a present United States Congressman.

  1. Some of these little wise guys need to be told off. Good from Grimm.

  4. Give us a break, politicians are our reps and they need to be respectful and held to higher standards, too he was also being questions for ethics issues he supposedly did, so any reporter should be able to ask anything of any elected official, if he doesn't like it get out of politics. Why do we have double standards so often for politicians? How many times have you been slammed like this before Lynn for raising issues and things that you want to get to? We need to stop having double standards for politicians, they need to be able to answer and respond to anything at any given time a reporter or the public approaches them, no more excuses or allowing them to get away with these threats and poor behavior. Our citizens deserve better than these goons.

  5. The reporter tried to be a snake...he did not succeed. Reporters also need to be trustworthy. It will be a cold day when he gets another interview from Grimm.

This interview was about Obama's speech--that was to be it. In this case, the goon was the reporter and Grimm was unfortunate to have been recorded.

  6. Integrity matters. The entire left-wing media sucks.

  7. The douche congressman claimed he didn't have time to answer any other questions. But then he stood around and not only listened to the reporter signing off, then he took the time he supposedly didn't have to come back and threaten someone that was much smaller than the douche.
No surprise you support such a douche. You probably consider him "the best congressman ever".

  8. Well, the recording just goes to show then that Grimm was also a goon for his behavior and reaction, how he handled it all. Now we know how Grimm feels about that reporter, how many local politicians feel that way about you Lynn for your questioning and blogging?

  9. Oh please Lynn. Congressmen are celebrities now and get to dictate what questions they can be asked?? Not in this country. China and Russia maybe. Russia they DO get thrown over balconies for being overzealous. This guy is not equipped to represent the people. NY1 is a very reputable news channel and nt known for any bias. There was no reason to lay into this reporter. Just reveals the total arrogance and abuse of power exercised by law enforcement. I have a friend in the FBI. Used to be a nice guy. Now that he's in the FBI he's totally arrogant and ubearable. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This Congressman needs to take a class in how to be a public servant.

  10. As said, the reporter set him up.
No, congressmen don't get to dictate what questions are to be asked but in this case, he was told it was to be about Obama's speech. The "public" as you put it, and in this case a news reporter who makes his living by asking "gotcha questions for his left liberal station, should have stayed within the guidelines he had set up instead of taking the opportunity to bring Grimm down. He was a punk. Don't lie to get the interview.

  11. This shows your double standard in integrity. If Obama did something like this you would have a stroke.

  12. Obama lies every day and I write about it.

@2:05...you are talking about class for public servants? That's rich.

@1:40. Grimm did not stand around to listen to the reporter who tried to set him up. The reporter went right into his diatribe the moment Grimm told him he was there to talk about Obama's speech and turned to walk off,

  13. Obama doesn't threaten to kill people, Lynn. Get a clue and stop drinking the kool aid.

  14. Don't drink the stuff--it will kill you.
No, you're right, Obama doesn't threaten to kill people--his policies do that for him.

  15. A nony at 2:05 can you please share with us the qualities of being a public servant.Do you want to use the present LW commission as an example?

  16. BREAKING: Megyn Kelly just asked Hillary Clinton a particularly prying question about her husband's association with Monica Lewinsky. After the interview was over, Clinton walked over to Megyn and told her that if she ever did that again she would "slit her throat."

Of course, the chances of the above happening are about as good as "independent" Lynn Anderson cheering Clinton's hypothetical boorish and bullying behavior.

BTW, I'm still waiting for you to wander down my street with that camera of yours so I can say "Hi!"

  17. Hey Jeffy boy, why don't you start posting under your real name.

To answer your post, Megyn Kelly is too classy and the circumstances on her show are entirely different. Anyone coming on her show know that they might get drilled for just about anything like Anthony Weiner. Two different circumstances.

Where do you live? Is your street blighted?

  18. I love this guy Grimm. We need mroe of them. did you see that guy? I could break him in half myself.

  19. Yeah, Rep. Grimm's great. He's a former LAW ENFORCEMENT officer and when he runs for Congress, he tells contributors: Don't worry, we don't need to worry about federal law on limits on donations. We'll get around those! I'm sure the reporter asked him about this because Grimm was refusing to make himself available at other times and in other places, hiding behind his staff, his very busy schedule, yada yada yada. A reporter's got a guy on camera, he's going to ask the question. It's a free press. Free country. I hope this sinks Grimm. He's clearly a bully and has no business holding elected office.

  20. Michael Grimm is under investigation primarily for campaign contributions...sort of like Retha Lowe. In this country you are INNOCENT until proven guilty.

One of his top fundraisers that he had reached out to in 2009 when he was running for elected office for the first time, an Israeli, was charged with embezzlement. Grimm was not charged. He also was accused of using FBI imagery in his campaign ads...sort of using the City of Lake Worth logo.

When powerful people want to go after you, they will. The courts of justice will decide. He has answered these questions over and over again. It gets to the point of harassment.

Grimm will say that the attacks are politically motivated. Time will tell.

  21. PROFF THAT THEY THINK THEY ARE ABOVE EVERYONE --GOP DEAD ON ARRIVAL---THEY HAVE NO CHANCE--IF WOMWN VOTE FOR ANY GOP, THEN THEY WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVED

  22. Ok--now we are attacking the entire Republican Party???? Tell that one to the unborn child who is not allowed to be aborted after 20 weeks...who will live a life and was not killed by liberals who believe it is just fine to kill an unborn child because, after all, it is their body. Someone has to protect the unborn.
