The play portrays the final holiday broadcast of the struggling Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade as it takes to the air during World War II to record its broadcast for the troops overseas. It features hit songs from the era such as Black Magic, Ain't She Sweet and I'll Never Smile Again with dancing and old time sound effects.
