Jeff Clemens blowing smoke?

Comment Up

Newly elected Florida State Senator, Jeff Clemens, has now found his enthusiasm once again in legalizing medical marijuana in Florida after Colorado and Washington State just voted it in for recreational use. Only one problem, the federal government says it is still illegal.

"In Florida, we are still behind the times compared to other states," said State Representative Jeff Clemens, (D) District 89. "People still have older attitudes toward the drug," he said. Clemens sponsored a bill to get medical marijuana on the November 6th election ballot. It failed to make it's way through the Republican-controlled legislature.

Clemens says it is a great source for much needed revenue. Sort of reminds me of the billboard blight he stuck us with for 20 years and that money is already spent.

  5. If only the "Republicans" could pull their head out of their.......well, um the sand is probably nicer. :). They remain sore losers and unwilling to face reality. Come on put on your big girl and boy pant(ies) and get real. Your "old days" whatever that is, is just a fading wish. Marijuana should be legal and regulated and taxed! Now go back to your legal (and potentially deadly) martini and please stay off the road when you do imbibe this holiday season. Thank you.

  6. When are the weed smokers gonna relize that making it legal will give it under control of government and the government will screw it up, make it more expensive, put chemicals/preservatives in it to make it "healthier" ect. Everybody knows someone who has access to weed, keep it black market, the government will only screw it up.

In Poland it is legel to drink in public, the only ones that do are drunk homeless people. We dont need bums smoking in public becouse they can.

It's the "WEED" and NOT the Drug!

It's Simple Economics - a Billion Dollars in 1938 (how much more 2012 in PBC/FL - the fruit and vegetable bowl of E. Coast?)
Wealth and Work for everyone in 6 months! This 'rotation crop' WILL clean up the Everglades! Empty buildings could be filled w/raw materials for distribution and/or manufacturing.
Fight Blight - Add JOBS! Homes wiped out in Hurricanes could be rebuilt 'GREEN' quickly and inexpensively. Homes built & insulated w/this require NO Heating or Cooling!
"Growing Automobiles from the soil" - lighter (CAFE Standards exceeded!), Automobiles run on bio fuel w/carbon emission compared to human breath, 10X stronger than STEEL

This is the kind of legislation I would like to see! It pleases most of us! (Again - NOT a Drug but a "Weed")
